I did a very simple and fast test:
- downloaded the Inaki prepatched boot.dat and licence.dat and put this file on sd root
- renamed the atmosphere and sept folder to remove Atmosphere presence on sd
- started the Switch using sxos payload.
- launched Tinfoil from the home menu icon, not the nro in hbmenu.
I didn't do anything else, I don't know which offending files @mrdude had on his sd before.
I still didn't tryed not renaming atmosphere and sept folder, maybe this weekend I'll have some spare time to try to help more.

Just checked, no icon view with your prepatched boot.dat. Icon view ok using my own valid licence.

I don't know if it's helpful, but Kefir uses a modified version of Tinfoil from Blawar, and it works flawlessly on SXOS

on my switch tinfoil never did those icons not even in atmosphere where tinfoil is supposed to work the best. On my switch tinfoil just ever showed the game titles in a list format with no icons and when you clicked on the game it showed the game picture as a background img even on atmosphere. I didn't even know tinfoil could do that nonetheless it should actually do that. I think devs of tinfoil updated tinfoil and removed that feature in the latest version.

No, that feature ( and maybe some others ) is only present when there is a valid license.dat, be it on sxos or on atmosphere. So yeah, things clear now.

No it doesn't but few folks managed to get it to work.... Am asking if someone could share his sd files with us!!!

One of the strengths of sxos is that you don't need files on the sd apart from boot.dat and licence.dat
Remove all file except for switch/tinfoil and put on root only what you find in the prepatched zip.
If you created your emunand using hekate, forget that it can load with sxos without moving emunand to sector 0x2.
So be careful, because if your emunand is not an sxos, you will load cfw on sysnand.

or even the other shops that exist now that probably existed when hbg-shop was created. I think early to mid last year I remember hearing about a tinfoil theme that could make tinfoil show those icons but it never did that by default.

Yes, anyone can use SX OS without a legitimate license, but it requires you aren't on 11.0.1 with whichever eMMC you want to use with SX OS.

Well, tinfoil game icons work even in atmosphere, but it requires a valid license.dat, of course. All my switches are setup like that. The thing is having it work with an spoofed license O: ) But I think making the spoof work on sx lite and sx core is a bigger priority

EDIT: this may not make sense to you guys, I mean using atmos but still wanting to use sxos... the thing is I have all switches with an atmos configured sdcard and a couple of them with additional sxos configured sdcards. I'd like to be able to break any sxos protection, and, if we could, add it fw 11.0.1+ compatibility and maybe more. SXOS is faster to boot and it does some things atmos doesn't...
