Snickerstream gets stuck when i close the connection from 3DS's end. Am i doing something wrong? or the software is buggy as hell? or both? I know the thread is for HzMod but i guess this is the best place to ask about it i guess?

Well HzMod is somewhat buggy, so when it crashes, SnickerStream just freezes and times out. You have to close SnickerStream from task manager and reopen it every time HzMod glitches out and doesn't close the connection properly.

Hello all, got a quick question. When I go to remove HZmod, I can only find the cia for the launcher in the Titles section of FBI. Is there another way to identify the correct title to uninstall or will all connect files be removed with the launcher uninstallation?

Nope. You'll have to remove the launchers (both have a name in FBI, SD green color), and 000401300CF00F02 from NAND (red color).

how do you get the right click shift thing to work

Click into the folder at an empty space (to the right side works the best, but if you're precise, you can still hit the left side), then once all files get deselected, hold SHIFT, right click, and the rightclick menu will appear with "Open command prompt here" or "Open PowerShell here".
If it doesn't work, you either didn't deselect all files by clicking into an empty space, or you're not clicking in an empty space.

Hello! It's been a few years since I've messed with 3ds stuff, but I had an itch to try some things and ran into a hiccup or two in the process.

I have a Japanese New 3DS XL (converted to US region) running Luma and the latest 3DS software, and a physical copy of Project Mirai DX. Using the 'new 3ds update' build of HzMod in this thread, and Snickerstream 1.10 x64, I can connect and see the home screen.

Once I launch the game, however, between when the 3ds logo screen goes away and the game's Now Loading screen appears, it stops receiving any feed from the game, and the LED rapidly blinks what appears to be green and orange. The same thing happens if I wait until after I launch the game before connecting.

Upon pressing any button to proceed past the title screen, the LED goes back to green, but the feed to Snickerstream never returns and I have to kill it via Task Manager. Also, at this point, if I press the Home button, I get an ErrDisp screen showing an error code of 0xd8604659 at address 0x0021bdb4 from process 'menu' and am forced to reboot. Anything I can try?

Thanks!

If I make no attempt to connect, the LED remains light blue, aside from the red flicker when I press buttons and whatnot. I am also able to press the Home button to return to the Home screen, without that crash occurring.
I checked my log file in the root folder of my SD card, but it doesn't seem to be recording anything particularly noteworthy:

APPMEMTYPE is 6, so we must be on a new3DS
Waiting for netthread to start
Started

Is there perhaps a log level value I need to adjust somewhere?

EDIT: I just tried Star Fox 64, in case the game itself was the problem. Snickerstream still freezes at a black screen after the 3DS logo goes away, before the game itself loads, but it does not do the green-orange flashing, and does not crash when I press Home. If I kill Snickerstream, exit the game, and then re-open Snickerstream, I am able to once again connect -- but again, only on the Home screen.

When trying Sonic Generations, I am able to stay connected after the game launches, but only at about 6~7 FPS. Is this perhaps related to the L2 setting I saw mentioned in this thread a few times? I was curious whether there was a particular setting I need to have applied for that, but didn't see it in the OP so I was uncertain.

EDIT2: Enabling the L2 option improved the framerate for Sonic Generations. Nothing changed with Star Fox 64 or Project Mirai, however.

More tests:

Works fine:
* Sonic Generations

Snickerstream freezes before game loads; HzMod continues running and can be connected to again after closing the game:
* Star Fox 64
* Ocarina of Time 3D

Snickerstream freezes before game loads; LED flashes green/orange. Game continues to run, but 3DS menu crashes when I press Home:
* Project Mirai DX

Snickerstream freezes before game loads, LED flashes green/orange. 3DS immediately crashes with an exception:
* Bravely Default
* Fire Emblem Awakening
* Pokemon Art Academy

Snickerstream freezes as game loading animation begins, then disconnects. Attempting to reconnect freezes Snickerstream, and HzMod must be restarted:
* Pokemon X

Both Snickerstream and 3DS freeze before game loads:
* Pokemon Moon

TARGA not supported:
* Yoshi's New Island

...And that's all the game cards I could find to test with. =x

Weird... where did you download the cia from? Sounds like you have an old and buggy version.

As for Pokémon X, the LED should change to yellow when you open the game. This is normal, because the game switches to local wireless mode. Same with Mario Land 3D.

No idea however why the others crash... is it always the Home Menu crashing, or are there other cases where not Home Menu is crashing?

I just downloaded them from the OP in this thread (first applying the AIO pack, then the "new3DS-only update"); is there a newer build than what's here? I looked back a number of pages and didn't see anything, though I could just be blind.

I *think* Mirai is the only game I've tried where it's explicitly the home/menu that crashes with the exception handler when I press Home; the other games in which I experience crashes all crash immediately with a different error screen upon attempting to load the game (after the 3DS logo screen).

Oh my, I forgot to update those... yeah, there are DEFINITELY newer versions available...

I'd say wait a few more weeks for the new HzMod update, as hopefully that will fix the issues you're having. The one you have is really old and buggy, and I'm not surprised in the slightest that some games just crash.

Wow, I'm impressed. This actually works! Works fine on 11.14.0J, but HIMEM version only turns on when I close the launcher. And after the screen loads, HzMod just goes off. Any fixes for this?

I have the same problem too, though after closing Horizon HIMEM my 3DS reboots and HzMod turns itself off.

There should be an included README in the package.

The way you use the HIMEM launcher is, you launch it from Home Menu, and it kicks you back to Home Menu (on old versions you have to press HOME on the black screen). You click on a game, and click Yes to close the HIMEM launcher. Then the game will launch, and so will HzMod.

If you just close the launcher, the 3DS will just reboot back to normal mode.
