Dude, this shit is too insane to be true. Imagine playing online homebrew game with VC support and with well made mini games. I am not a programmer, but this seems too ambitious. Good luck to the devs! I hope this project will not share the same fate as osu! 3ds and undertale 3ds projects.
Ty for the amazing laugh you think this so called project is going to get. The last recreation i saw of this title was a flop and am guessing this one wouldnt do a thing either.

I honestly don't wish that it will be as bad as it seems, but it does seem like they just have a lot of ideas guys and no actual way to bring those ideas to fruition.

Announcing the project when they haven't even ripped the assets they plan to steal is a red flag already.
And also the copyright theft. I could see how a case could be made for claiming it a derivative work if it's not a full clone of the original, and the assets are only used as a base, but even that is iffy.

Either way, there is no point in hating. Shit is too insane anyway. It's 2021 and it's a 3ds homebrew scene. Like calm down my dudes, just let the kids have fun)

Its ripping off a active video game which can cause huge consequences to said kids since they have no clue what the world is capable of screwing them over with.

The problem is not "kids having fun", the problem is that they already said they plan to use copyrighted material in their fan game, which could get gbatemp in trouble for the same reason you can't upload roms to the site.

Mb this is a misunderstanding issue. Mb they will only rip them for development purposes. Nobody said a word yet about releasing the game with copyrighted stuff. We can always obtain these assets ourselves.

They do plan on releasing the game with the copyrighted assets included. Their ‘solution’ would be to lock the download behind a check that you own the original game.

It's common for fan games that use the original game's assets.
The problem is that usually you need to provide your copy of the game, and they don't distribute the files themselves. It seems that what they're planning is to include the assets in the download, which is illegal regardless of whether you own an original copy or not.

lol they misinterpreted the "you gotta own the game to download the ROM" messages on those websites. If only they gave a shit about all the advice (and harsh criticism) they're getting here, maybe they'd learn a thing or two

The thing is that they are using Unity for the game, so you could never rip the assets and include them because the game is compiled already. Sooo, what they would have to do is release the source and include a lot of instructions on how to rip and how to add the files to Unity. Also, the only people that could download it then are the people who have Unity for 3DS.

Unity has ways to download assets from internet or to have them copypasted on some folder that can be accessed easily BUT im not sure how all that would go on a 3DS. Like.. does the game even create temp/appdata-like folders? It's complicated to say the least...

op create something and dont hope some dev will create it for you. to me it seems like this just hope.

if you want port something check this out :-

https://android.rinnegatamante.it/ android games have been ported to the vita so this might be help.

also on that veteran homebrew devs have marked among us as impossible.

if you create something which is bit playable or getting they Ill reopen this thread.
