[SOLVED]
I dumped the JP cart and patched the .trim.cia and installed it. It installed fine. When I open it, the 3DS splash screen opens and gets stuck there (not freezing or crashing/powering off, it just continues playing the splash screen forever). I tried with the unpatched version, as well, but it does the same thing. I run 3DS firm 11.13.0-45U on O3DS (because I don't know how/if I can update safely with CFW) and Luma 10.2-bb07s73 (because Luma Updater refuses to believe I have internet). Can someone help?

This is the patch I'm using: Happy New Year everyone! In some... - Operation Decoded - Digimon Games Fantranslations | Facebook

Edit: Seems like the MD5 messed up on the first dump, somehow. I redumped and all is well.

Update Luma3DS manually then update 3ds as game works fine here

but didn't you try the ziperto prepatched cia? you shouldn't have had any dump troubles if you installed that
Yeah, that was weird, but idk. The Ziperto one was giving me the same problem as the fucked up dump, but it worked for other people. No idea what went on there, just glad it works now.
