Should SquareEnix release the 2nd half on PS4?

  • Keep it exclusively on PS4 - [Keep both games on the same console family]

  • Make it exclusively on PS5 - [Split the games between the console families]

  • Release it on both the PS4 and the PS5 - [Release the game on both PS4 and PS5]

I won't care about this until it's a proper, complete "remake" - instead of a reimagining of the first part of the game, bloated to have a 'standard' runtime.

Still, both PS4 and PS5 - no-one's left behind, all parts can be played on the one console if desired instead of having to shift over.

PS5 will definitely have a revision of both parts together at some point if you really need that faster loading time.. kinda like how they milked Kingdom hearts bundle over to PS4. To cancel the ps4 versions wouldn't make any sense it can handle the game just fine.

Seeing how they completely flubbed textures at times in game that was nothing but winding hallways, I don't think their tech/talent is up to making large open areas at the same fidelity. That's the reason I'd rather see them focus on PS5 only, especially since I expect they'd sooner sacrifice gameplay freedom than pretty graphics.

I vote for both because some people cannot afford PS5 or don't want to have PS5 right now. Two are better than one. :)

most likely both due to the facts:

- the PS4 is still alive
- the engine was designed for PS4, the would be stupid to trash extra money
- when the PS4 was released waaaay back before(in ancient times when life was easy) the new titles back then also released on PS3 and PS4 due to the fact the PS3 was big back then(and no company wants to shred extra money)

only thing that can happen(hopefully not) will be that PS4 and PS5 games will share the same prices(due to the compatibility for PS4 games).

but besides that we don't have to worry for the second Part of FF VII - part 3 would be the one to worry about v:

what do you mean second half? did they say that there will only be one more game? also id rather they not be limited to ps4 hardware to only use ps5 to buff res framerate textures and raytracing

I'm late to the post but it will definitely be on the PS5. The PS4 is at the EOL and Sony is stopping production on the PS4. Cyberpunk is a major reason why top anticipated games should go on Next gen vesus trying to accommodate older hardware.

IF They do release part 2 it will not be right away anyway the PS4 is going to be phased out probably by the end of next year.

Why would you pass on a huge share of PS4 owners? They will bring it to both platform is anything.
I dunno, Microsoft and Bungie fucked over OG Xbox owners with Halo 3, so the OG Xbox couldn't have a well-rounded trilogy on one console. That really pissed a lot of people off, me included. Camelot did the same bullshit with the Golden Sun trilogy: First two games on GBA, third game on DS. :/

This problem of "first two games on one console, third game on the next console" needs to stop.

To be fair, Nintendo wanted them to focus on the Mario sports games instead.
The Golden Sun games have always been more of a niche for Nintendo.
The third game only came out because fans were begging Nintendo to release a new title, with they did, though too late in the Nintendo DS lifecycle to generate enough sales to get even.

Well it very obviously will be on the PS5. Square isn't a bunch of idiots, supporting current-gen consoles only makes sense. Whether it'll be fully integrated (significantly upgraded visuals) is the real question to ask.

It also has a 95% chance of being on PS4 given part 1 was, thus it obviously can run fine on it. There'd be basically no reason not to. Nothing will change performance wise from part 1 to part 2.

Only old people and those too stupid/ignorant to understand technical limitations were likely mad. You may as well be pissed off that Halo 1-3 weren't on your tamagotchi. Obviously the game required more than the OG xbox could handle, thus why it was obviously put onto the current gen console at the time. Not to mention it had been TWO YEARS since the release of the xbox 360.

Golden Sun 3 released EIGHT years after 2. What the fuck did you expect?

Bro you must have literally no concept of time. Are you sitting there trying to cram Xbox Series X games into your NES and screaming "WHY WON'T IT WORK??"

I suspect that whatever console it comes out on, with be whatever they planned at the beginning. The PS5 won't have been a shock to them.

Since PS5 runs PS4 games I just sold my PS4 Slim and just had to put the $200 difference for the PS5. Assuming buying a PS5 at MSRP is possible, it's better to take a little loss selling and buying.

I kept the games.

PS5 so that the graphics don't get downgraded for PS4. By the time the game is released a decent amount of people should have the PS5.
