I want to start playing some of my switch games on PC. I found this guide on dumping the necessary Switch files and digital/physical titles:
https://yuzu-emu.org/help/quickstart/#yuzu-quickstart-guide

I haven't read it fully yet, but from what I understand this is in CFW territory (please correct me if I'm wrong). If I only want to dump the above, and then play my Switch normally afterwards (e.g. going online, purchasing titles off eshop in the future, etc.), is there any risk of me getting banned at all by following the guide?

Just thought I asked as I want to play it safe. Any other things you think I should know would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

if you use cfw to dump your games from eshop/cart and then never boot cfw again you will be fine. You will only get banned for taking the switch online with games from what I hear. If you just connect to the internet to download your eshop games you wont get banned. I have a switch dedicated to cfw to dump my games and it's a day one switch never been banned.

There is always a risk of getting banned when you hack your console so the answer to your question is yes.

yeah but the chances are zero to none, the only reported bans are people who are cheating/pirating, or hacking games online. The very low percentage of people who do complain about being banned usually fall under one of those three categories. Just don't cheat and pay for your games and you won't have any problems.

As the person whose been handling the ban reports since the first reported ban, I can assure you that a lot of the reported bans are NOT from cheating/pirating. In fact, there are quite a few people who pirate/cheat and are not banned yet.

So then what's the main reason those people got banned? You don't just "get banned" for nothing, you have to catch attention and get banned. Nintendo isn't out here handing out bans bc you have cfw on a device.

I never said it was just due to CFW. Most of the time, there was an underlying cause such as using a save manager or even using ChoiDujourNX,

OP asked if dumping games would get him banned not a save manager or updating it with choidujournx. I understand your side, i'm not trying to fight but i'm also not trying to throw unneeded info at OP.

I guess the OP is planning on playing on his computer he is better off going on the net and getting a NSP/XCI file for that. IMO if you have a switch why use Yuzu I heard the compatibility isn't that well

But it's best he knows that even using CFW poses a ban risk, if he's so concerned about what dumps will do.

True but the act of just dumping as he said is all he would be doing, means we don't really need to warn him. He should never be in the state where he'd get banned.

Emphasis on "should" however. At the end of the day, we are not the ones who decide who will and will not get banned; that is Nintendo's job. And none, if not majority, of us do not work for Nintendo. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Lastly given the number of replies and likes, it seems more people side with my opinion than yours.
