I solved that by using the boot.firm from an Animal Crossing hack. Download the file by clicking the link and then just replace your old boot.firm with the new one. That's what worked for me on a 11.4 3DS with Luma 10.2

Guys do not download this. If you do, it will work for about 3 or 4 days and after that your game will always crash on bootup. I have narrowed it down to this file because after uninstalling it and playing, my game works totally fine. However upon installing it again, my screen goes black yet i can still interact with the bottom screen and hear music.
None of the media is good (banner, plugin background image, and video) because I wanted to get this out before Saturday. I'll probably spend more time working on the background image and banner rather than quickly making these.
Today I'm releasing my first official NTR plugin. This has been written 100% by hand. No converters, such as Gateshark2NTR, were used. I started working on this on Tuesday (2/7/2017) and think it's ready for a pre-release. New updates will be made almost daily (or as often as I can). Check back on the GitHub for the latest build.
Originally, I was planning on only giving this to 1 person but then saw this as a good opportunity to further practice programming in C and release it as a full plugin. There are many plugins being thrown around and leaked, so it's about time one made by hand got officially released by someone who is willing to maintain it and knows how to update it appropriately.
Usage:
1. Download the plugin (.3gx file)
2. Place the plugin into the folder for your region:

3. Download @Nanquitas mod for Luma3DS that allows plugin loading from here
4. Place the boot.firm on the root of your 3DS SD Card
4. When on the home menu, press L+Select+DPad Down to access the Luma3DS menu (or if you have a different combination, press that)
5. Enable plugin loading. This option will stay enabled from now on, unless you turn it off.
6. Start Mario Kart 7
7. The plugin should load and you can access it by using the select button
8. Enable cheats and enjoy!

Don't FTW hack in worldwides with this, please. Let's not ruin the game completely. This is your choice, but make the right choice.
FTW hacking is where you use cheats or mods to gain unfair advantages against other players and win by using these. The right way to hack is to use the No DC code and stop at the finish line and wait for other players to pass.

Okay so since the compatibility problem with CTGP-7 has gotten so bad, I'm going to leave this post here and no longer provide support regarding this topic. I receive complaints on a daily basis, whether that be by email, Discord, YouTube, or on this thread, regarding the "outdated plugin file" error. These two projects are not affiliated with each other. From what I can tell, it seems that the CTGP-7 plugin was developed without regard for other plugins, even for completely different games, and therefore will not allow you to load any plugin other than the official CTGP-7 plugin on any game, including Mario Kart 7 and including my plugin.
There is nothing outdated about this plugin. When you use CTGP-7, it replaces the boot.firm on your SD Card. It seems almost nobody is aware of this, so I'm going to make it clear now. When the error screen is referring to an "outdated plugin file," it is actually checking whatever plugin it's attempting to load against the latest CTGP-7 plugin, which obviously nothing will match other than the official plugin they released. You're getting this error because Luma isn't actually using the official boot.firm file or the modified 9.1 file (either will work with my plugin).
Solution #1: On the previous page. Chainload the Ctgp-7 boot.firm so that it only uses it when you want to.
Solution #2: Replace the modified CTGP-7 boot.firm with the original one every you use it.
Please share this post with anyone who is still having the "outdated plugin file" error. This has by far been the biggest complaint/problem that the plugin has ever had.
