Been since May, when I first started this thread. I saw a doctor and they drilled that hole to relieve pressure. I’ve been watching this nail, watching for green infected color. The new nail looks healthy, so I’m not concerned.

I’m beginning to think that the new nail is growing and will push the old nail forward. Kind of like when you push wood forward on a mill. As the wood moves forward, it gets cut. The new nail as grown about 1/5th of the way out now. I’m less nervous when I clip the nail. I just do it after a shower, when the nail is soft.

It's super weird. I've never seen such thing. It seems:

On my experience, after the whole nail got black it would just separate and fell off of my skin.

I think it's fine to assume it will never fall off, but simply get pushed as new nail grows under it, until it gets clipped off for good
