He made a thread about how he found his cheats. He just copy the dynamic addresses into a single cheat every time it works until there is no more addresses (usually 2 or three times) or so I saw.

If that is the case, then @NeoGranzon is creating codes that have a high chance of corrupting save data, not just crashing the game.

That's not a proper way to make codes.... That's lazy.... And stupid.

Toukiden Kiwami already has codes made. [PCSE00467]

Edit: It also looks like this game uses not only pointers, but some other form of unknown DMA. So, you will not be able to hack this game without a lot of knowledge about how code creation works.

I just want to know if this codes will work with PCSB00574 [EU]?? if not is there any made for EU ver?

I talked to @NeoGranzon about this tutorial he had posted. It WAS about just resetting the vita, and tacking on new codes to the list until the codes worked every time. Unfortunately, this can cause issues with the games, and I don't think he realized that...

Every new line we add to a code, edits more of the RAM. RAM that the game does not expect us to be changing, or freezing as we normally do. So, for some games, this method may work. It may work really well, on some games, even. On other games, It might simply crash the game sometimes, or make funny pictures show up on the side of the screen, or turn the game black & white. Little annoyances like that. But on another game, it might not look like anything happened until you try to load your save, only to be greeted by error messages saying the save is corrupt.... Or even worse, a user might have a plugin installed that bumps itself where the codes used to be.... Now we're dealing with plugins that are breaking randomly.... or worse, a softbricked vita.

There are reasons why we do the difficult job of searching for pointers. Why we try to keep our codes clean. Why we spend hours, days, or even almost a year trying to get codes working correctly..... Yes, I've been working on some codes for over a year that I haven't released because I can't get them to do the thing I want. But I'm not going to release a set of codes that edits WAY more RAM than it needs to. I don't want to release it and suddenly people start saying "Hey! My game doesn't load!" or " I can't continue the mission now!".

Pointer Searching isn't a new thing. Almost every console has pointers, all the new ones definitely do. PC games also use pointers. And each system we hack on, we have to do pointer searching. Thankfully, on PC, we can do a few different tricks, but we still can't just edit a bit of RAM and expect it to always be in that same spot...

Please use a pointer searcher for creating your codes. I don't care if you use my TempAR, or Universal Pointer Searcher, or Cheat Engine. Use one of them. There's tutorials out there for them all. They really aren't hard to use, it just takes a lot of time.


Also, his tutorial did mention an "Advanced Method"..... That's just Data structures. I put a video up on youtube showing how to use Cheat Engine to dissect data structures so that you can compare 2 or more characters' data and make better guesses about what the numbers mean.... In my video here, I load 4 players' HP addresses and use the tool to find HP, STR, Magic, Luck and Gold for all the characters just by looking at the data in an easier tool.

I'm done with this conversation. He's unwilling to admit that he could possibly be wrong and simply thinks we are attacking him, based on him using $0200 codes.... That's completely wrong.

I wasn't even the one that started the war on his codes.... I just told him I didn't think we needed more tutorials.... I would recommend that his codes are not uploaded to the DB. He has proven that he uses a dangerous method to make codes, and is unwilling to change his mind.

But we DO NEED tutorials on finding certain specific cheats (x2 game speed, x2 walking speed, moon jump, walk through walls, battle xp multipliers (x2,x4,x6,etc) no fights, instant fights, one hit kill) that are difficult to find. Those are the cheats that I consider a game should have before being uploaded to the DB.

What is BGFTP? I use no sleep + ftp everywhere.

They both provide the same thing, but BGFTP is not always on. You only turn it on when you want it to go.

In an abundance of fairness, I have been urged to look at codes made by @tomberyx as well. So, I've picked out a game that uses $B200 codes (because that was the complaint. Don't ask me, I dunno. That was the complaint. *shrug*) Since I'm investigating these claims, I might as well make them public, because I'm sure we'd all like to know if these codes are broken or not.

I've picked Demon Gaze. It's a list of codes that he created, and they are using $B200 codes to (reportedly) mask the fact that he couldn't find a pointer or that he is using improper methods.

I have set my vita's system language to English.
I have found my HP is at the address 0x81219318.
His code is $B200 00000001 00000000 + $0200 00018C18 00021E61
This code targets Segment1 at address 0x81200700
0x81200700 + 0x18C18 = 0x81219318
This code correctly points to the value I found as HP.
PASS

I have set my vita's system language to German.
I have found my HP is at the address 0x81318F18.
His code is $B200 00000001 00000000 + $0200 00018C18 00021E61
This code targets Segment1 at address 0x81300300
0x81300300 + 0x18C18 = 0x81318F18
This code correctly points to the value I found as HP.
PASS

I have set my vita's system language to Japanese. Game audio and text is switched to Japanese.
I have found my HP is at the address 0x81219918.
His code is $B200 00000001 00000000 + $0200 00018C18 00021E61
This code targets Segment1 at address 0x81200D00

This code correctly points to the value I found as HP.
PASS.

I can conclude, beyond a reasonable doubt, that @tomberyx does know how to use $B200 codes when needed to create working codes. I can also conclude that these codes do NOT use the $B200 code type to, in some way, mask the fact that he does not know how to create codes through a proper method. These codes are working and do not break. I give these codes a PASS.

It's probably nothing really major. They're almost exactly the same game, so they probably took ALL the code from one game and Copy+Pasted it to make the next... Just switching out some visuals and audio and making small changes. That's pretty common with sequels, but these two are just so alike that the code didn't change much.

Were very interesting when it is possible to compare a code with all the games in the base to see if it matches. This could probably open new doors OR just waste of time :-)
