Gaming DSi XL Backlight bleed - Common issue?`

I've recently had the urge to seek out a DSi XL. I love the 3DS but I need those crunchy pixels for my old DS games. I managed to get a really gorgeous yellow DSi XL but the touchscreen has some pretty bad backlight bleed. Was this a common thing? I've got another one on the way but I don't want to end up buying a ton of them only to find it they all have issues.

It was pretty common. At least I remember many people complaining about this back in the day.

I thought it might be the case. I'll have to try and limit myself to three or four attempts and just live with the best option.

I did notice twisting the shell fixes some of the worst bleed. I might have to open it up and see if there is any leeway for tweaking.

Good luck! DS screens are not so good generally speaking.
I only own a DSi and I notice a small backlight bleed but its something I can live with.

I can live with a little bit. I remember how bad it used to be with lcd panels ten years ago.

My original DS is perfect but IPS was fairly new when the DSi came around.

I wish the 3ds xl had better scaling so I could just stick with that.

My second DSi XL turned up today. It has almost no backlight bleed but the screens aren't as well matched, also a bit too warm for my tastes. Ho hum
