Is it also possible to play this version in german? The german text files are published. Is it possible to replace the text files with the german ones somehow?

Will there be an updated v8 build with the current bugs fixed?
Like the M in the hat being glitchy, weird shader stuff with the coins and trees, etc.?

Dev team is aware of the issue, the M isnt actually a bug in the port but rather in the original Render96 texture. Theres a long explanation for it but tldr the switch port as well as some other ports read the bit depth more closely than the textures were designed to be read. It will likely be fixed. Not sure about the coins and trees.

Ah that's good to know.
Thanks for the answer!

I completed the game to 100% today with the SGI models, and boy what a wonder of a trip.
It's like much more enjoyable game with all the QoL stuff in there!

However, my trip wasn't without its bumps, so here's a full list of all the issues I came across:
  1. Mario's "M" texture in his hat with SGI is broken
  2. All 3D modelled coins have some sort of dull lighting to them, they don't shine.
  3. The pig tree 3D models look too bright when enabled. Like the shading is not working on them.
  4. The Bob-Omb textures show up improperly with SGI, like with a black line that splits the texture down the middle of the Bob-Omb 3D model (mostly notable on Pink Bob-Ombs)
  5. The Cap Switches models seem to have some glitchy colouring to them, as if there's no texture applied to them. All three (Green, Red and Blue) switches appear the same.
  6. The Eyeball enemy in the Boo's House stage seems to have issues with the 3D model. The model itself looks like halfway stuck in the ground, while the 2D iris sprite is in the correct position.
  7. The camera tends to screw up i Rainbow Road if you go into Mario cam. It no longers zooms out, making Rainbow Road WAY more painful to deal with a zoomed in camera.
And that's it!
That was all the issues I could find.
Nothing really worrisome or game breaking. Once these issues are ironed out, I'm sure we'll have a pretty stable release :)

PS: As a side suggestion, I'd like to ask for the option to be able to select which Mario/Bowser models to choose. For example, I'd like to play with all the SGI models, but while having Bowser be the Arredondo model, as I like that Bowser better than SGI's.
