Recently updated a friends atmosphere to the latest version and noticed when booting fusee primary from hekate (chain booting) it takes forever (like 20-30sec) to get to the home screen.

Having youtube'd it i can see this is normal now? When did atmosphere go from 5sec boot to 30?

Could it be as im chainloading from hekate?

I decide to test it myself and you are absolutely right. When it reach atmosphere logo then I time it. I got 26 seconds to boot

But for Hekate.. it's different. Just run Hekate and click Launch and click CFW (SYSNAND) and I got 16 seconds.

Fusee_primary is simply just a lot slower than Hekate/fsso, nothing more and nothing less. This is why there is not much reason to use the fusee method of booting Atmosphere especially combined with the fact that fusee can only boot into emuMMC for either sysMMC or emuMMC but not both.

What is the recommended way to boot atmosphere then?

Use hekate if you want faster boots. The end result for both hekate and fusse is identical.

Hekate boots much faster than fusee because a lot more time has been put into hekate to make it perform better (and even just in genera a lot more time has been put into it)
