I love how some clowns here are like "ITS JUST ROMS!111!!".
Did you guys every cross checked with checksum if they are clean roms and not made optimized for the switch by nintendo? aka fixing polys and so on to increase performance?
Did a code review to check if something is different?
No you just talk out of your ass as if you know everything about this.
We know it has 3 Emulators N64,GC and Wii with given Games, not much more.
The info is saying that it isn't fully emulated. Only parts of it. I believe this came from twitter. So where is everyone getting info that part of of galaxy is emulated?
I tried, but unless I really missed something it didn't workFor now, let's just use Layered FS to importe GCM files, then let's create a IPSwitch patch to change the rom to load on the fly? :/
Actually, more important, what games are running correctly with it?
We have a lot of things to try now lmao.
Of course, it happen the day that I'm not home with Fiber connection, but instead shared weird 250kbps wifi lmao
(also, don't have my USB C cable, nor SD card reader, noice)

contents/010049900F546002/MarioSunshine/Super_Mario_Sunshine_Stardust-trimmed.gcm right?
Tried with Nintendo Puzzle Collection since I had the GCM lying around. It just boots Sunshine.
Why?. If it were not for these three games we would not know about the official N64 emulators, better optimized GameCube / Wii that could be used to load other ROMSWhat a shame, Nintendo. They are actually roms/isos then I am not buying it at all!!!! I will be fine with those on my emulators instead. Shame on you, Nintendo. What a cheat!!!
Weren't the remastered games running on a SNES emulator?Isn't Super Mario All-Stars (25th Anniversary Edition) for the Wii an emulated rom too?

Don't dream so loud, they are port of WII U, not emulators, just like Pikmin 3.I wonder about Super Mario 3D World in Feb 2021. It might be emulated for the Wii U Emulator as well. I would bet you on 2 cents!
What?Technically speaking, roms can be used for other purposes entirely. The presence of rom files doesn't mean they are being emulated.

Galaxy in particular is really interesting. It appears they recompiled the original code to run natively on the Switch CPU, but everything else (GPU/Audio) is running in the emulator.

Interesting trick!
What?
If the ROMs are not there, then there's no game at all.
If there's a ROM, it IS emulation.
Just because they add some soft-patches through whatever means doesn't mean that's not being emulated.
Except they are actually loading the executable code. For example, you could use a script to extract the graphics/sound and other assets from the rom. Without emulating any of its original executable code.
lol what's the flag for? pretty sure having that there doesn't change anything as we're only modifying romfsIf you want to try, do this:
Know the internal structure of the game by unpacking the NCAs of the game.
Go or create a folder on your MicroSD with the following path:
[Atmosphere]
MicroSD:\atmosphere\contents\010049900F546003
Inside the folder create a folder called "flags" and inside create an empty file with the following name and extension: "boot2.flag"
They go back where they created the folder and create another with the name "romfs", inside the content they want to replace the game will go, either the ROMS and other files modified to detect said ROMs.
Remember that the files you put there have to match the path inside the NCA files that contains the "romfs"
"010049900F546003 @ is the ID of the leaked game, it can change according to the NSP region
Good luck.
I thought it was to activate Layeredfs or so I remember.lol what's the flag for? pretty sure having that there doesn't change anything as we're only modifying romfs
nah, it's used for sysmodules to make them load as soon as the system boots. Layeredfs is enabled by default.I thought it was to activate Layeredfs or so I remember.
The only thing that I agree with you is that you cannot use original cartridges to play your own collection. At least in Nintendo, whether it is backwards compatible or by Emulation, the cartridge ports are not compatible like the conventional ones of other CD / DVD / Blu-Ray systemsI FUCKING CALLED IT!
Yet they were jerks saying "but it changes controls, but it has higher res, but textures" bla bla bla.
It was fucking obvious they were gonna be emulated, Nintendo's well known for being lazy fucks.
Thanks for once, Nintendo, for this gift.
Now we can exploit it for other GC/Wii games.
For evrything else, they can still fuck off. lol
