Hi , i would like someone pm me a link from a store based in europe if possible for sx core or a store that have stock in general.i am from greece...
thx in advance

Hi! I gave up looking for a European shop for SX Core/Lite. Most of them were shipping from China anyway, so I went on and ordered one from AliExpress. (Look for YF-... shop on page #109 in this thread). It came reasonably fast. (25 days) via NL Post, Customs Free.

Cheers.

Still waiting for my chip from China, it arrived in Greek customs on the 19/7, then was forwarded to the post office on the 28/7 and still haven't received it yet (in Athens).

its that time again, cursed chips ahoy.
an installer i know tried using the chip from the blow user install in a brand new console.
its melted 2 of his spare flex cables

This is what the chip doe to ribbon cables now, the new switch i installed his old modchip is just fine only the modchip now likes to eat ribbon cables (it burns them) at first as you can see it nicely green lighted, after 20% into the nand dump it went off.. couple of anxiety farts came out and I thought well i could try a new spare v2 cable again to see if i'm not going crazy, the exact same thing happend.. desolderd everything switch is fine, told him his chip was evil and doomed because of his work and is now in search of a new chip, he explained to me he got angry when installing his chip at one point (he has add he says) and that's why his switch ended up like that (atleast that is what he says) it was a rollercoaster of doomed pics from him and a doomed chip that was perfectly installed from my side but likes to eat ribbon cables.. it kept me up till 2 in the night

So the sx core has a short, from the qsb conector on core to...., compare with a good core if you are not tired triyng to use damaged ic by the customer or factory ?( i didin't recived a bad core or lite yet)
See my struggle with battery drain thread....tryng to prove my install is good, but jason confirmed...i"m wright.
So i understand your struggle.

I aint messing with that chip no more, i think he damaged the chip somehow, it seemed fine by the looks (only the debug was a bit black but i thought well ill give it a shot) it green lighted perfectly and at around 20% into nand dump it failed, 2 times with 2 different ribbons its defo the chip, it gets real hot at the qsb connectors somehow. I'm not in doubt of my own install, i have done 47 installs none of them failed, i'm a trusted professional installer, this was just due to bad chip, luckely he was very understanding and explained it al to him, desolderd and cleaned up his new switch wich works just fine, and he is now in search of a new chip

Hi again! just wanted to give an update.

I bought the aliexpress SX lite from the link that matias3ds kindly shared, and just contacted the seller via chat. Asked if they really have the sx products and after they confirmed I bought it. They even sent me two analog sticks for the lite for free.
I had to use EMS as the only method availablefor shipping (I´m from Argentina) which is very expensive but it was the only way. It arrived after 4 weeks which is ok.
Everything was ok with the package, even the gifts.

So it is doing the emunand now :)

It was REALLY difficult and stressful to install... but made it.

TIPs:

  • don´t use metal thermal paste, it is conductive and you can make a mess.
  • use electric tape to insulate the processor caps after soldering to prevent the thermal paste spreading over them
  • solder everything as it should, then test THEN assemble.

Thanks matias3ds for the link!

Does anyone know what the circuit clamp for holding circuit boards while hot air soldering is called? cant find any links to one.

Yes thank you exactly what i was looking for. Also do you know a lot about usb c connector repair? i repplaced one and now it is charging but only when the usb c is one direction but not the other?
First check if all pins are soldered, i use a bare 24 pin usb c male connector to test continuity from mb to conector, create a help thread for you problems or use searche button probably is answered already.
