Hacking PATCH games for fw 5.05 question

There's some "new" PS4 games that come with an update file and a 5.05 patch file but im running into a problem, when installing the 5.05 patch a message says "you already have this do you want to install again" i hit "yes" and it deletes/overwrites the game. the instructions say to install game - install update then install patch but its not working, im i doing something wrong ?

Someone made a update with patch included which solved my problem but i still dont know why i cant seem to ever install the 5.05 patches separately without the system trying to overwrite and remove the game all im left with is a controller icon on my dash
