Hello Guys

I am not sure sure if If this is the right place to post this issue of mine.

So I am playing Arc Rise Fantasia (NTSC-US) and the horrible voice acting just got to my nerves. I downloaded the Undub version, used USB Loader GX and it played just fine up until now.

Just recently, my gamecube controller is not being recognized while the Undub version is in play. It will only accept my Wii-mote with the chucks.

I have no memory of changing any Wii settings since I last played the game. I can see the Native Controller option is still disabled.

To rule things out, i tried playing with the actual disc, a few NES and SNES roms and the gamecube controller worked just fine.

I tried WiiFlow and Configure USB Loader and the Undub version still will not recognize the controller.

Not playing the UNDUB version with GC controller is no big deal but knowing that I have to play the UNDUB game with the Wii-mote and chux is just annoying me.

Anybody has a suggestion getting my gamecube controller recognized by the game again?

Okay, after a lot of searching and googling i found a very Odd solution to this problem

https://smashboards.com/threads/gc-controllers-not-being-detected.422843/

THE Wii's Internal Clock and Date... I noticed that it was set at 12/30/2035...

According to the post, it seems that GC controller does not work after reaching a certain date.

I changed the clock to the current time thinking something this trivial would not work...

and VOILA... the GC controller is now being recognized by the USB Loader GX and UNDUB version of the game.

Thanks for posting the solution to the issue, so others can make use of it too.

Now this is really a very weird behaviour on the NGC Controller...programmed obsolescence?

BTW. The GC controller you're using is an original from Nintendo?

Actually it is not. I am using the Gamecube Naki Ultimate Spider-Man Controller that i got on a toy sale 4 years ago and I have been using it with my modded Wii ever since. That is why it is such a weird occurrence.

The programmed obsolesence context was meant for the Wii actually, as it seem it will stop accepting GameCube controllers somewhere on year 2035, which sounds really weird.
