'Allo, 'allo, GBATemp! I've been floating around for a hot minute but realized I have never made a formal introduction. I'm IsaOfTheWorlds, and I joined the site to wish fan-translators good luck and then I just sorta hung about after that.
My greatest passion is Golden Age-styled mystery novels, the school of mystery writing that was predominantly popular in Japan, America, Britain, Spain, China and France from 1920-1970 and which focused on providing the reader with all the clues they need to solve the mystery, not only figuring out whodunit but also deducing the complex methods they used to commit the crime!
I'm learning Japanese to read modern Japanese detective novels, which are going through a "Shin-Honkaku" movement where the traditions of the Golden Age are being revived. 日本語推理小説を読むために日本語を勉強している！実は今日、このポストを書いた後、日本語を勉強したり、推理小説を読むのを練習を積んだりします。頑張ります！ I'm still a beginner, but once I'm fluent I fully intend to get involved with the fanslation scene, so I hope one day I can provide something to the community for you all to enjoy!
My favorite video game genres are 3D platformers and collectathons, 2D platformers and Metroidvanias, JRPGs and SRPGs, but I love to play a little bit of everything! What are your favorite games to play?
