Can anyone recommend a cheapish soldering iron that will do the job? I’m guessing my 15W fixed temp Maplin special won’t be good enough

If anyone has a link for those 0201 caps pls share or DM, had a look at mouser, digikey & ebay but nothing there (or I missed them). Mine is still in transit but it doesn't hurt to prepare ahead and these components are dirt cheap.

Thinking beginners without knowledge should just use removable conductive glue or conductive thermal paste (not liquid metal) if they really want to try it themself, so if they f up, its easy to remove and send to someone who knows what he is doing.

we discussed conductive glue but it seems more harmful than anything.

What I get that's the correct temps. But if you keep it there for an extended amount of time it will probably burn. I would bet the user who solder that part didn't use flux, or at least not enough of it. Or extremely hot iron.

I made cold soldering because of I was paranoid.. I tried to avoid the caps get burnt

I love this iron.... but I still have to get more accustummed to it, but definitely it's worth!
