I own a Tencent Switch, the one that's region-locked to China, the one with the locked eShop, disallowing multiplayer on global game cartridges, and only allowing multiplayer within China on digital games. Because the Tencent Switch is pretty much the same hardware as the regular Nintendo Switch, is it possible to flash the global, non-locked ROM onto it? I would like to be able to play multiplayer with people outside China and be able to buy games from the global eShop. I've tried searching online, but I could never find any threads or posts on this topic.

Tencent Switches are patched. We don't know if SX Core would work on it, but if they do, then only way is to make emuMMC, but current implementation won't pass checks for anything except your own backup.

SX Core does work with tencent units, I have personally tested it. Using emunand does not help with the restrictions as it is created based on your sysnand.

Yeah it wouldn't be like flashing a complete "ROM", you'd likely have to get the decrypted files from someone else's NAND or maybe from updates if everything needed was in there, then add them into your own (emu)NAND. Code might need patching, who knows.

I've seen no technical discussions and barely any mention of the Tencent Switches on this site, have you checked any possible Chinese communities to see if anyone has looked into it?

Are the current emunand implementations console-specific? My thought is that someone could make a file-based emunand on an international Switch and then load them on one of these units.

1 backup tencent switch prodinfo
2 edit prodinfo file 0x3510, change 04 to other region, 00=jp 01=us 02=eu
3 0x351e 633b is crc checksum, need change to correct value
4 restore prodinfo, if you not change crc checksum to correct value, restart will black screen in boot
5 use sx installer or goldleaf delete /system/save and savemeta
6 factory reset your tencent switch, region will change to your changed version

region value checksum

Will this also change the keys so they can play eshop games? This review said that they can't because of different keys but I wasn't sure if they're keys stored in the efuses or the firmware. https://forum.devchroma.nl/index.php/topic,216.0.html
