Because it’s so bad that Nintendo wants to protect their console.

installing them has nothing to do with protecting jack shit and they are even shutting installers down when they don't even have the product or are offering to sell it! what nintendo is doing now is just despicable they are WORSE than apple now!

Damn, I just saw on there site, was going to go to them to get a sx lite installed once it becomes available, they're the only place I know that would have probably done it, but I guess not now.

What I am curious about is what would happen if you have a sucessful install thats also booting and everything and then just remove the chip (ie restore console to original state) - is it bricked or will it boot normally?
Another thought would be just removing the solder points, etc...

Obv. I am not curious enough to try it myself though :P

As we know this chip uses Power Glitch Attack every time console starts (this glith allowes to bypass security protocols so console can launch cfv) , so I think it will brick while trying to launch cfv , so I would not recommend to remove the chip.

High temperature.....is the main reason

High temperature is not the problem, it's the amount if time the heat is applied. It should take a fraction of a second to solder the parts together.

What people are doing wrong is failing to get the solder to flow due to a variety of reasons and they keep bringing the iron back to the components and over heating the caps which eventually burn them out of they apply enough heat to lift the caps completely.

A short soldering time with high heat and the right tools and technique is much better than a lower temperature and constantly prodding away like a desperate lunatic.

You will have to disable AutoRcm first , and then remove the chip . And it will work as Usuall

People aren’t getting the solder to flow because they aren’t using any flux like morons. Every install video I’ve watched, all but one person has not used flux at all. It’s also best to use 40/60 lead solder. Again, these people are most likely using crappy lead free solder

I understand they don't want their games be pirated, but, the mod chip is not only to pirate games, you can install android for instance

I've removed one and console boots OFW fine

Chip is married to Console on - Initial FW Update maybe, when you activate your license for sure.

AutoRCM bricks Mariko.
