So my 3ds is semi-softbricked, and I’ve tried almost everything I knew of to fix it, and I had CTRTransfer suggested to me. I can open gm9 most of the time, but I cant do CTRTransfer, and every time I get this error after a few seconds. I’m on a N3DSXL

Make sure your SD is working before attempting CTRTransfer (h2testw, F3, F3X). CTRTransfer – or CTRTransfer (Type D9) – without prior checking the SD is not a really good idea.

"I can open gm9 most of the time," sounds strange. What do you mean with this?

Any known hardware damage?

I’ve done the quadruple reformat on the sd multiple times, but lots of the time the 3ds only boots very briefly, and I have to grip it a certain way for it to even boot, and sometimes it says “payload is invalid or corrupted” or “unable to mount ctrnand or load the ctrnand firm” but other times it lets me load into gm9 and start the process, but it freezes up and shows the qr partway through the process

Why have you bothered to make a new thread when Turd was still helping you with advise on https://gbatemp.net/threads/n3dsxl-...flashes-on-and-off.567759/page-2#post-9105505 ?

@DumpingDonuts, what was the last thing you recalled doing with the n3DSXL before this brick occurred? Was it dropped or bumped? Did you like to carry it in a backpack with no case?

I think you might have a special case of a hardware brick where one of these components on the motherboard has failed: NAND chip (eMMC), RAM, and/or ARM SoC (CPU+GPU).
