hi Guys,

since retroarch still has its problems, I would Like to know what is the best emulator for

1.gba/gbc
2.nes
3. SNES
4. Mega Drive

Best wishes.

Thanks. And why do they work better than retroarch (which hast problems with a driver and micro stuttering)?

Never had a single problem with emulating old systems like snes/gba/genesis on RA. Completed a bunch of games like Super Metroid, Comix Zone, Earth Worm Jim and many others and didn't notice any stutters or lags. But imo the best standalone emu to use on switch that's better than RA's core is only PPSSPP, for everything else you should use RA without any issues.

Isn't using RA with a specific Core (e.g. mGBA) the same as using the standalone mGBA?

To be honest I'm not a fan of RA myself but as others stated earlier PPSP/ PFBA/ PSNES / PNES/ MYGBA/ Melon3DS are probally the only stand alone emulators if you want something more exclusive it's better to look into a PS Vita the emulation is better

Not all PS1 games work on RA

MAME/Arcade games are a pain in the ass on RA because sometimes you have to fiddle around to see what works or not. I wish they had a list of where all the appropriate arcarde/mame roms go versus you trying to figure it out.

Example? Just out of curiosity... Cause ps1 is my main console to emulate and it ate all games i threw at it with no issues (some needed a bit of oc tho for fullspeed).

RA never detected Tomb Raider 2 when I tried to play it... idk if it was Tomb Raider 2 or 3 but it couldn't find it there was also a few games..... I don't remember well but I do know not all PS1 games were detectable on RA for some reason for the switch

I'm not really that big on PS1 I only play MK Trilogy or Ultimate Battle 22 I normally use my vita for PS1 games or my Android

Detectable? What? All tomb raiders run just fine and detectable.

It doesn't always DETECT PS1 games but if you browse to the game and launch it manually it'll work fine. Alternatively, if you have bin and cue files it tends to do a better job of picking them up. Finally, if all else fails you can use a playlist generator on your PC and send the generated playlist across to your Switch.

Manual scan never fails.
