sux that they never were able to update SX OS now you have to fuck around with solder and dismantling your switch also it's no longer plug and play

What are you talking about? Updating SX would not just make it work on a patched/Mariko or Lite. There is no other way to mod them. Hence this chip being developed.

The left side of the flex piece looks like a ribbon, is the right side the part you solder? Do both of these circle+arrow areas indicate soldering?

As someone who has limited soldering ability it looks really simple. It looks like nearly everything clips into everything else with connectors. I can only see 2 actual solder points

Yeah the installation look risky, personally I wouldn’t want to unseat heatsink, also to place ribbon on top of cpu chip, that may cause the ribbon to disintegrate by exposing to the heat generated. I think the best would be just remove the metal shield and back cover only, and simply clip in the connections.

I’m assuming the USB plug is for updating the modchip and requires you to remove the back of your Switch to access.
Suddenly my jig doesn't seem so bad...
I don't care if it's once a week or once every few months, having to open your Switch for any kind of 'update' would really suck balls.
