Aren't you talking "in general"? I am asking why specificly 6.20 was chosen (for searching vulnerabilities)? Why not another FW?
It’s not FW specific that they target, it’s testing CVE’s on whatever FW they have to hand.

The fact TJ’s badhoist works on 6.20 is a way in, a starting point. And we know it doesn’t work above 6.20 as it’s been tried.

well, I'm ready to test anything on... @Hayato213 's system. :D

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

hayato didn't hide his spare key very well. I found it underneath a broken flower pot.

The webexploit for FW 6.20 could probably work on FW 5.50 but doesn't make a lot of sense to port it to FW 5.50 if it works on FW 6.20. If you read the Tweet of the dev that ported it, it was fixed with FW 7.00:

At the moment, for FW 7.00 there is no known public working WebKit exploit, without entry point even a working kexploit is useless. FWIK no one search vulnerabilities directly on the ancient WebKit version available on the PS4, they try to port what's found by 3rd parties against current versions of Chrome/Safari/Edge...

EDIT: @KiiWii confused me mentioning the "Bad_Hoist" exploit, the webexploit for FW 6.20 it's probably what SpecterDev released previously leveraging CVE-2018-4441 that was fixed with FW 6.50... ^__^;

There are people fixing games constantly.
trying new emulation bases. Like the Dexter base, etc, and discovering new config parameters to fix issues.

Ahh, I see. I dont know any of those that might fix Klonoa 2, do you?

I would love to try but I need to know which one so I can test Klonoa 2 to see any improvement or not.
