Hacking Questions first timer 5.1.0

I have recently have acquired a hackable unpatched switch on 5.1.0. Would anybody please be able to direct/guide me to properly hack it. I have did research and mainly want the switch to be able to play pokemon sw/sh as well as animal crossing but it seems I would need to upgrade to CFW 9.0.1. I don't know if this is correct but I would appreciate the help and thank you.

I’d update to the latest firmware if I were you since you have an unpatched switch either way. The custom firmwares out there support the latest version now.
