Is there any way I can download the emulator for original xbox games and put that on a hard drive to use in my xbox 360?

EDIT: I'm on an E console trying to play real discs.

Are you trying to play real games or backups? If backups do you have an RGH or Jtag or flashed 360? You should give this type of info because I have no idea what your setup is.

if you have an official hdd, the emulator should be installed when you install an update. if you mean hacked compatibility files, then you need an rgh.

Sorry, I'll edit with this info. I'm trying to play real discs on a 360 E console with no original hard drive.

I don't have an original hdd, I'm trying to play real discs without one

No once again you have to have an official Xbox 360 hard drive there is no other options. They're not very expensive now days.

Also without a hacked 360 you can't play games that aren't on the official compatibility list.

There's no 3rd party emulator and there never will be on retail 360s.
A unofficial HDD can play original Xbox games on a retail console, you just need to inject the emulator partition.

If you have a RGH box, you can get a hacked emulator which adds a bit more support.

How do I go about injecting the partition? I thought I'd done that but my 360 wont recognise the drive anymore. Is there an easy guide on how to turn a non official hdd into one that plays xbox 1 games?

I'd recommend using the MrMario2011 video tutorial on YouTube or the one within the tutorial on section of this forum, I'd link but I'm not allowed to yet...
