This game using uncap framerate that unstable and has performance issues. It playable at maxed clocks in docked mode but terrible fps in handheld. It will be great if it lock 30 fps.

Very cool, the game seems to run with a completely locked 60fps with a bit of overclocking and your 720p mod. Shame about the UI, do you think it's fixable or do the assets actually need to be edited?
It coulbe fixable with some more edits but i didnt find anything.

~I appreciate the hack from Kirby- but I'm still holding out for just a 30FPS lock.~

EDIT: Please disregard my inability to read the thread.

I don't know who thought running the game at 1920x1080 in handheld was a good idea. I believe the reason has to be that the engine they used didn't play nice switching resolutions on-the-fly ('switching') so they stuck with just one to hide that flaw.

Man I just tried the 720p patch and it still looks amazing and runs actually so well, I really really wish someone would figure out how to figure out the UI scaling issues because this would actually make the game so much more pleasant to play..

What did you use in order to make the modification? I would like to fix the ui problem somehow
I used Ghidra to disassemble the game's executable, then made an IPS patch which is basically just used to change some values in the executable in order to change the instructions that determine the resolution.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
