Hi, I recently bought a used wiiu to "upgrade" my good ol' wii. I succesfully modded both the wiiu and the vwii, and then I started to copy all of my wii's miis and savegames (creating savedatas for every game before attempting to install the copied savegames) to the vwii with SGMGX (rev76). Almost everything went fine, except for a couple of savegames (obviously the most important ones!) that refuse to install, returning the following messagge:
Code:
Error:
Unable to copy datas
Any ideas on what can cause this error and how to solve it?

--UPDATE--
NEVERMIND, I FOUND A SOLUTION:
savemii mod supports SGMGX saves too, so I was able to install all those "problematic" saves easily trough savemii mod.

Hello everybody,
I tested these versions of SaveGame_Manager_GX to find out which one worked best this way:
I extracted about 40 game saves from WII memory and then reinstalled them by changing 3 game saves so that I could check if it actually did its job.
I tested everything both in single mode and (Manage ALL) and again in COMPRESS mode, below my considerations:

0-IN ALL VERSIONS IT IS NECESSARY FOR SAVINGS TO BE PRE-EXISTING IN THE WII MEMORY BEFORE INSTALLING THEM FROM SD-USB TO WII (if there are no even empty saves it does not work or from errors).
It would be useful to be able to choose to extract the saves (MANAGE ALL) also in COMPRESS mode (standard WII).
It could help to carry out the tasks with greater speed and also TEST to be able to choose what to select and what not to in all the management phases (extraction, installation, delete, etc)
DELETE key is missing on WII bailouts to better manage any maintenance work it is necessary to exit the program and proceed on the WII system. (I understand that it was deliberately not put due to point 0 but it is also necessary for TEST perhaps with ALERT!).

1-SaveGame_Manager_GX-Beta-Rev76 (20171017160843)
In this version I encountered a problem when installing from SD to WII 2 game saves (BOB THE BUILDER and MY COACH)
both in menage all mode and individually:

ERROR: Unable to copy data
In the installation with COMPRESS mode no problem.
As known in this version, the management of miis in manage all mode is missing.

2-SaveGame_Manager_GX-Beta-Rev76.1 (20200304) r76.1 (77)
The management of miis has been integrated with (MENAGE ALL)
Unfortunately it has the same problem as the version in point 1 with games (BOB THE BUILDER and MY COACH)

3-SaveGame_Manager_GX-Rev127 (201301300745)
I tested this version and had no problems, all the rescues were successful. (No problems with the games BOB THE BUILDER and MY COACH)
It is a dated but still valid version, perhaps some options are missing.

Last week I had found a version (I think Rev127) that had problems with maintaining the save directory settings, I remember that as soon as I opened the program it gave me the paths on USB8: and despite changing the
directory when I closed the program and reopened it all settings were lost. Maybe I changed something myself (I formatted the SD in FAT32) or maybe that version was another, however this time it works correctly.

I hope it will be useful to improve and complete the Beta version that someone is carrying on with patience and courage with much merit.
Thank you,everything will be fine!

Hi, I've been using wii homebrew for quite a while (mostly mario kart related stuff, hence the username), but never made an account here, I've used this before to install miis and it's worked perfectly in the past, but for some reason it doesn't work now, I click "install" on the mii on my sd and it says it's successful, and if I check the miis, it shows up, however, if I check the mii channel, it's not there, and if I load SGMGX again, they no longer appear there, any help would be appreciated

Hi, I need to do a factory reset of my Wii. However, I would like to be able to save my kids' progress in animal crossing so I can restore it after the factory reset.

Can I do that with SaveGameManagerGx? Is there a step-by-step howto somewhere? I really want to get this right because I do not want to lose the kids progress on their favorite game.

Thanks!

Hello,
yes you can.
you need to have a hacked wii.
then use my app to extract the save.
after the reset, hack your wii, then play the game once.
then, you can restore the save with my app.
you should consider to extract and restore miis too.
hope this will help.

use this app: here

Regards.

Thank you!!!

I did do a softmod with banner bomb and so I have homebrew on my wii and I have bootmiii installed on an SDCard (because my wii would not let it install in boot2). I plan on redoing all that after I do the factory reset, long story on why I am doing the reset. :-)

How do I extract and later restore the Miis? I did not see that on the SaveGame-Manager-GX GUI but it probably wasn't the beta version. Will try that one...

Ah... I found the Miis section within the SaveGame-Manager-GX rev76, I can't believe I hadn't noticed it before! I saved all the miis that were important... The kids had created a bunch but some were just for fun so I did not save them all.

I just realized there's progress in other games too... so I will save the data for those as well.

A few more questions before I do the factory reset:
  1. I noticed that the SaveGame-Manager-GX settings section has a setting for specifying the location of a ".bin" file. Do I need to create a dump of that somehow before doing the factory reset?
  2. Any special process to restore the miis? For example, for restoring the game save you said to play the game first and then restore the game save. Any special order for restoring the miis?
  3. I assume that I will need to play each game (animal crossing, mario kart, just dance, etc...) with all the restored miis first and then proceed to restore the saved game data for each using your app?

Hello,
- No need to set .bin path to manage your saves
- restore your miis when you want but before to play some saves linked to mii (mario kart,...)
- you are right

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Sorry for the late reply, but that didn't work still, could my sd card be the issue? although I've tried with 2 different sd cards and a USB drive so probably not
Sorry, Don't understand where is your problem...

Just to report back that I got the Miis back as well as the saved game data, for all but one game, after doing the factory reset and softmodding again.

The game that I was not able to restore game data for was "Just Dance Summer Edition".

Also, just in case it helps others, the restore of the Miis did not work the first time... Here is the sequence of events:

1. I factory reset the Wii, did the softmod, bootmii and priiloader.
2. Launched SaveGame-Manager-GX and it then asked something about "3DS Miis" as well as telling me that some "library of Miis" (or something like that) was not present and I think it said it was going to download it. Anyhow, I answered YES to both questions.
3. I proceeded to restore the first Mii, but it failed.
4. I went back to the homebrew (not the Wii Menu), and relaunched the SaveGame-Manager-GX right away.
5. This time it did not ask about the "3DS Miis" but it did ask the second question about the library. I again answered it as YES.
6. I proceeded to restore a Mii and this time it said it was successful, so I proceeded to restore the rest of the saved Miis.
7. Exited the app and went back to homebrew, and did a shutdown.
8. Started the Wii back up and went to the Miis channel and they were all there.
9. Played all the games for which I had data to restore, creating a profile within each of the games. Then after playing each game I would go back to the SaveGame-Manager-GX and restore its data.
10. That process worked for all games except "Just Dance Summer Edition". The app reported that it could not load the data.

Anyway, I am very pleased with the outcome.

THANK YOU @dj_skual for creating this awesome applicaiton.

Try https://theme.rc24.xyz/ (choose SVGMX in the dropdown). It has two dark themes.

EDIT: Oh well it doesn't support the beta, but you can at least try? Don't know if the beta even supports themes?

Hi, so I used Savegame Manager GX to export my saves from the Wii and import them to the vWii on Wii U. It worked, which I am thankful for, but it caused my Mii Channel to be corrupted and to cut to the chase, I ended up restarting my vWii to factory settings. This removed my save files in the process.
I'd like to import my save files again using Savegame Manager GX, but I'm worried that it will corrupt my Mii Channel again, and I'm wondering what I should do to stop that from happening. Have you heard of a problem like this?

I learned a valuable lesson. Do NOT restore a GC .raw format save to a memory card. That will wipe the whole card and leave you only with that one game’s saves. Ugh.

Is it possible to combine multiple .raw saves into a single file so you could “restore” them all to a memory card?

Also, unrelated, I tried clicking Download Themes and It crashed. Is that a known bug?

And is there anyway to turn of rumble? I turned it off in the settings but it still rumbles.
