I used SXOS, but I switched to Atmosphere 2 weeks ago and I was wondering the same.

I use ftp all the time.

Do you know if I need to restore my prodinfo before doing a choi update? I guess I should do it anyway. not like it would hurt anything.

You can update with ChoiNX without restoring your prodinfo, and updating won't restore it either.

Why not use something like nxmtp?

Because you don't need any cable nor to take your switch out of the dock, it's super convenient for small files.

My concern was that the update would cause incompatibility with the backup, and make it impossible to restore if necessary.
