I have an external hard drive 3tb, i partitioned on 2, fat32 and ntfs.

I Want the wii to read the fat32 partition, i want to do this in that way because i want to save wii, gc and emulators on the fat32 partition and other stuff on the ntsc particion (like movies and files larger than 4gb).

I tried loading from the homebrew channel but when the drive is recognised, it shows me the "Exception (DSI) occurred!" error.

Is there any way to make the wii read the fat32 partition?

Hello,

The first partition must be in FAT 32 and the second partition in NTFS.

But the wii reads an external hard drive of no more than 2 TB. (See with other members)

can you post a syscheck report, following this guide, please ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

Thanks for the assistance, i solved it this way

First: Mi HDD is a Western Digital My Book Essential 3tb.

to use the HDD the way i want it i needed it 2 software:

-MiniTool Partition Wizard (versión 11.6)

-EaseUS Partition Master (versión 13.8)

*Both in free versión.

First plug in the hdd and open EaseUS, inside the program delete all partitions and then right click on the disk and select convert to MBR, if it was in MBR leave it that way.

Now, right click on the unassigned space and create a FAT32 partition with 32kb cluster size, format it.

By last, go to MiniTool Partition Wizard select management disk and partitions, then select the unassigned space and create the NTFS partition, i used this program beacause the other one doesn't allow me to create the partition with all the unassigned space just 1tb. Once the NTFS partition is created right click on the FAT32 and click on set active and there, you have the hdd ready to use on a wii.

PS: The loading times on wii will be slower than usual, i mean, you open the HBC and take some time to show the apps and you can't use forwarders. Some apps like Wad Manager doesn't work too. I was able to perfectly play wii games with the Ultimate USB Loader GX,GC games with the same loader trough NINTENDONT, play perfectly with FCE Ultra GX, Genesis Plus GX, Not64, Snes9x GX and Visual Boy Advance GX emulators. It should be noted that my xbox 360 readed the hdd fine and my AOC 4k TV was able to play a remux versión of avengers endgame of 51gb, i say this to note that the hdd works perfect. the final result was 1 fat32 partition of 1000gb and 1 ntfs partition of 1794.43gb.

Cool that you figured it out :D. Not sure if you need all 3 tb though haha :D
Might not be worth all the hassle considering iirc ntfs works fine for everything on the external hdd
