'The Outer Worlds' Nintendo Switch release date announced

tow.JPG

The Outer Worlds, the sci-fi RPG developed by Obsidian and involving writers of the original Fallout games, has officially received a release date on the Nintendo Switch. The game was already released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in October 2019. Switch owners will be able to grab their copy of the game this March 6th. The announcement comes from a tweet by the game's publisher Private Division:

Note that the physical release will include a downloadable code instead of a cartridge.

30 hours ain't short think you forget people hav jobs and may only hav couple of hours a day to play games - don't kno why people are comparing to Vegas it's not Vegas 2
Yeah i agree, people were fine 10 years ago with a story spanning 6 hours but now aren't satisfied anymore with 30 hours. Entitled gamers these days and people compare because it is the same studio and the same style so we expected the same level of quality. Despite not being bad it's just not at that quality level new vegas was

No cartridge? passerinos
also.

>Xbox - 30% cut
>Playstation - 30% cut
>NIntendo - 30% cut
*Does not bat an eye*

>Steam - 30% cut

*Throws the biggest fit of all time screaming at steam why they're being so unfair and stealing money from devs and publishers*

Exclusivity is trash.
Thank you for reading this nonsense.

They compare it, because it's similar and made by the same studio
30 is short RPG-wise independent on how much time you personally have.
If you so clueless, try not make any assumptions, it'll save you some time, that is short on you.

Those who are crying over no game cartridge just to let you kno when you die you stil hav no game cartridge
or after 1 week if you play it fast or don't like it you can get about 50% of your money back easy enough or if you don't like the RRP you can wait a month or 2 to buy it and get it at 50% of the cost, this is the main gripe I have with digital only games, they essentially rob you of your right to resell your game, they also arbitrarily keep the price of the game high way after release where if it was a physical copy they would be forced to drop the price to be more inline with the second hand market

the digital only shift of games offers pretty much zero benefits to consumers, all the benefits go to publishers and consumers are screwed over, if you prefer digital you should have that option, I would argue digital copies of games should come with at least a 30% discount out the gate as the publishers etc no doubt save way more than that by not having to produce any physical carts, I wouldn't mind paying 30% more for a game to actually own it, as I could understand why digital only buyers deserve that discount

Dont really wanna go down the route of cost and value again - pay what it is its not robbery today we get incredible value for length of games today and mor money the devs get the better games we get and keep the industry going

Well when digital games first came to be, they came cheaper than a physical version because costs were less but they jacked it back up because of their excuse that steam was taking a marginal cut compared to the 20-30 dollars price increase of that per sold game. Also the reason why EPIC promised games would be cheaper on their platform since they didn't take that cut steam took so it should go back to how it was and that was cheaper than physical but seeing how greedy devs are when it comes to digital markets they never went back to that price. The sole reason prices are the same as physical according to them was because of the cut the launcher took but even when using self owned launchers or no steam version the prices still stay that way. That way you know most devs are talking out of their asses and only a few good devs are keeping true to that promise '' ninja theory as a prime example ''. But since not a single big youtuber or website calls them out on that stuff because they're all so afraid they will get blacklisted and not receive free shit anymore or tickets to events they keep it at that price. Wish the big names in the gaming community were less corporate shills

Yeah same goes with the internet ability to download the said game.. like its such a cheap ass way to make a profit.. in order to play the game you.ll need to have internet aswell .. which in all honesty digital downloads are nothing more then devs squeezing out as much money as they can its the same when you purchase a game that doesnt include dlc even tho its there in some games on day 1 of release.. excluded parts of a game to make even more money is just wrong.. these games are already almost 100$s ... i played it on pc and loved it.. i took my time and enjoyed the enviroments but it is too short considering what that company is capable of i think thats what got alot of gamers down.. but good game none the less...

the same argument could be made for pretty much every item, oh that car that cost you $10,000, it was actually a very good car and great value for money....but yeah you can never ever resell it if you want to recover the costs to put towards your next car or you fall on hard times and want to cash out of all your purchases or if you find the car isn't as good as you hoped, or if your needs change and your have a family and need a bigger car a year down the line....well yeah nope, screw you.

not to mention the person who needs a cheaper car is forced to either walk or cough up the full RRP, if manufacturers and producers can eliminate the second hand market the little guys who don't have the $10,000 for a new car will never ever own the car, because why bother producing cheaper cars, there is nobody to compete against except other companies who can all just secretly agree to set a minimum RRP to keep maximising their profits, those who can't afford one can simply suck it

I can agree on this front though, I have found more enjoyment out of short games, than super duper 900 hour games, value is in the enjoyment not necessarily the "play time"

I hate this generation of game devs... They sure know how to fuck over people who want to have a complete game cartridge collection of a console library. The only digital games I've bought are Splatoon 2 (because I play it constantly, so it just made sense) and Sonic Mania (didn't know they were putting it on cartridge later, DOH!).

Oh, and obligatory "OH BOY, ANOTHER PORT!"

-Saber Interactive and CD Projekt Red :
"Here our Witcher 3 game(that are more than 40 GB on PC) on your Switch with all DLC and Update on a cartridge!

-Virtuos with The Outer World :
"Here's the game that are 36GB on PC and should be a lot less heavy on switch with the reduction on texture and all that and weight less than 32GB on demat and with a code in the box !"

I know that porting is not really easy but that's a little ridiculous imo. Just don't make a boxed copy then

I just don't understand the rationale: You buy a download code!
Just go to the eShop and get it there, damn it! Why are they creating more plastic and paper in order to sell a boxed download code?!
People buy games in stores because of the cartridge and to avoid the download, not because of the single use download code.
