I'd help, but someone who does not possess basic google skillz in 2020 is not going to make it far with Unity. And your lack of grammar skillz will keep you out of the workforce too. Better start there before contemplating a fan recreation of Red Dead Redemption for Wii.

So here we have somebody simultaneously ending plurals with z and bashing someone else's grammar. Baffling.

Anyway, you would use devkitPro and libogc to program any sort of Homebrew application. Writing any sort of sophisticated 3D game would be damn near impossible though IMO.

you mean something like the homebrew browser? for homebrew games like this (currently beta testing)? You will need to start with some basic programming because you can jump to game dev. game dev is hard but not impossible.

Do homebrew developer have complete access to the Wii´s resources? Are there limitations?

If talking about C family that devkitpro and the like revolve around then you have had access to the full set of Wii hardware since the first IOS mods really, and definitely today. Limitations wise you might well have less than commercial devs (updates easy, networking do you what you like, controllers do what you like, if you have a nice IOS module then fewer troubles still with certain things as well as all that eventually got ported to it -- see all those older games that troubled older CIOS modules by virtue of not supporting things made available when they were first released).
If you are going for a Linux base then some things change.
If you are going for a limited language like Lua then you are limited to the Lua libraries.

There are some pretty basic homebrew devkits floating around.

I too been looking for official Wii SDK to no avail.

If you find one for Gamecube you may be in luck as Wii natively runs GCN and there are ways to run ISOs from the Wii using a homebrew app. Nintendo has pretty much came out to say that the Wii is just a beefed up Gamecube around the time of the Wii's launch.

If you do design a game that is compatible with the Wii's archetecture you can also put it on the Wii as a .wad file. Again, loading it onto the Wii through the Homebrew Channel.

Essentially there are plenty of means to get your DIY game onto a Wii. These days finding an official Dev Kit might be easier than it was a decade ago. Nintendo has some pretty pricey gate-keeping to developing on their consoles. It's all about software licensing to Nintendo. Indies like us have our work cut out for us and we must be crafty.

Since the Wii's SDK is proprietary it's likely to be copyright sensitive. Not like that ever stopped anyone here

why does suddenly picturing that seem like such a good idea? graphics would be disappointing and its memory would probably explode... but it's red dead redemption at the end of the day
