I am an SX OS user but have been running Atmosphere 10.2 through SX OS to run certain applications. I am trying to run Flycast through Atmosphere but when I attempt to load a GDI file through Retroarch Flycast i get an error message.

Any ideas? I know that Flycast does not work with SX OS but wasn't sure about running Atmosphere through SX OS as a solution?

Sorry of this question has been asked before, I did search through the various forums but could not find a solution.

you can always switch to SXOS from atmosphere if need-be w/ Payload Launcher, but launching atmosphere from SXOS? im not certain if it introduces issues. you can isolate if thats your cause by launching directly with fusee-primary as your RCM Payload/Hekate. if it goes away , then theres the issue.

If not 1: people will need wehat error your getting/screenshot of the crash/error , if it occurs w/ a single game or every game, what sysmodules you have loaded. If your using atmosphere via Kosmos, then just..get rid of it and use a clean copy.

if your trying to use network features, Disable them. its not implemented in flycast and trying will just cause Atmosphere itself to crash. (known bug). if all else fails, backup your SD, (and your emunand) format the card and rebuild it. it may Also be your CDI image, and to rule that out.. you can try flycast(Retroarch) redream(just dont pay for the liscense n use it in free mode) DCemul, or Reicast to see if it boots

Thanks Dracari and assume I just need to download payload launcher from the home brew store and run atmosphere that way, do I need to download/install anything else?

for the blackscreen issue, are you using exFAT? as quick searching shows it common those w/ cards formatted as exFAT.

as for Payload launcher, its personally what i use there's others i think but yea, whats on HB Store should more than enough.

dont forget however to swap out your SigPatches, as what works for fusee-secondary (defaulted by Kosmos/Hekate) i dont know if works w/ Fusee-primary

if nothing exceeds 4GB, you can try migrating to Fat32 (Copy everything off/backup any EmuMMC/NAND, format SD Card as FAT32 and copy back over. (just know that Nintendo's exFAT Implementation is buggy, and prone to corruption.)

Thanks and I have now formatted the sd card as Fat32 and can run the Atmosphere payload. When I load retroarch and try to load a core I get the attached error message, any ideas on how to fix this? My switch is super banned if that makes any difference?

are you using title redirection? is everything up to date and set up correctly(bios and all that stuff)?

Does title redirection make a difference as I’m not using that, remind me where do the bios files go? I’m trying to run Flycast so have the Dreamcast bios files. I read somewhere you need to delete all nsp files from your sd card to stop the error message, is that true?

All your nsps have nothing to do with RA, it doesn't matter. You should always use title redirection (esp for emulation), just get used to it (hold R when launching a title).

https://docs.libretro.com/library/flycast/
Here's all the info about bios and setting up flycast in RA.

tldr all necessary files go into system/dc directory
