i have a unpatched switch with 6.2 clean Sys and 8.1 Emunand Sx os, the question is that i want to stay with my firmware 6.2 because in the future a new exploit will work up to 7.0 without jig (i know that autorcm can ban the switch). it's possible to create a clean emunand for online? i have to use sx os or atmosphere for this clean emunand?

You should never use neither emunand nor a "clean" emunand. An emunand isn't clean. Use ofw for online play and you're good to go. And if a new exploit comes out, you can easily downgrade your console. But fusée gelée is almost the "holy grail" of the coldboot exploits. Why do people always expect something new? The exploit just mentioned is quite sufficient.

Because they don't want to destroy the right rail using jig every time they need cfw and they don't want to trigger a ban with autorcm. "A classic emunand" like the 3ds did in the past should be possible.

Autorcm has nothing to do with a ban.

I do, my console running atmosphere with autoRCM installed stays online 24/7 (unless I’m taking it somewhere or whatever). It’s been like that for over a year and a half and hasn’t been banned.

Can you reiterate your statement? I'd love to hear more info on this subject on what exploit you are using, firmware, are you using an EmuNAND, etc. I have heard and read multiple rumors of people not being banned even when using CFW online, just like the 3DS Console. I want to further investigate and research this.

But it is a reason because it is detectable by the kernel iirc. It bricks a part of the nand. Or emmc in this case.

You can't destroy anything as long as you don't ground pin 10 with pin 4 because there are 5 volts.

Lastest Atmosphere + Latest Firmware when possible on emummc, my sysmmc is used for experiments so it’s firmware changes very often depending on what I need. My emummc is used for normal online stuff, mods, and homebrew, and as I said above my sysmmc is used for experimenting and is always offline.
Both technically have autoRCM installed, and I use Fusee Gelee.

I’ve been using the emummc since Atmosphere 0.9.0 released back in June and before that I did what are currently my emummc activities on my sysnand, and I did what are currently my sysmmc activities on a separate console’s sysmmc.

so you use a emunand for online stuff?

low sysnand offline (which fw?) + atmos emunand for online?
Yeah.

>which fw?
Well, as I said my sysnand firmware changes very often as I use it for messing around with random stuff, so like if I’m playing around with 3.0.x factory stuff I’ll downgrade it to 3.0.2, or if I’m messing with 9.x dev fw stuff I’ll upgrade it to 9.1.0. If you mean fuses, it’s 7.0.x/8.0.x currently.

have you ever broke a pin with a jig?

This is very interesting! Do you have any recommendations or comments on things that may cause "bricking" that you would recommend avoiding while using the EmuNAND online?

A couple other points i'd like to ask and example to throw out, just to verify and clear the air:

  • Do you do use a program like 90DNS.nro while connected online or do you stand fully connected to Nintendo's servers?
  • Are you using an NSP, NSZ, XCI back-up installed onto the system or using the physical cartridges while connecting to the servers?
  • Are you Playing games online with others while using your method?
  • Would you feel comfortable playing the game "Luigi's Mansion 3" NSP that is a backup of your physical cartridge and playing the mode "Scarescraper" and playing with others in a full online Lobby of random players?
  • Can someone using an RCMloader and Jig option for Atmosphere 10.2 be able to use these functions with the EmuNAND?
