Hello! I'm a bit too late on the whole deal, but just yesterday I managed to softmod my Wii ( 4.3 E ) that had been hanging on the shelf for far too long.
I set up both WiiFlow and USBLoaderGX through Homebrew Channel to try my luck with both and the one for me happened to be WiiFlow. I downloaded both Wii Sports Resort and Wii Party and stuffed them into my flash drive and it worked without a problem!

I spent the night downloading Smash Brawl and Skyward Sword and they both ended up being files larger than 4GBs. Upon making my research and using Wii Backup Manager, I got them to my flash drive by splitting them.

Now this is where all the problems came to hand. I first ran WiiFlow, however it only showed Wii Sports Resort ( There was only Smash Brawl and Skyward Sword in the disk, I'm certain of it ). I thought it was alright and I would have to pick the games manually using the file browser, which I did. I ran the .wbfs1 file on Smash Brawl and the screen went black. I waited a bit before giving up.

I decided to give USBLoader GX a go and this time it actually showed both Smash Brawl and Skyward Sword! However I ended up with the same result, When I attempted to start them, I got black screens.

So I consulted to good old Google, a few videos suggested various things with Loader settings and stuff, tried about three or four solutions to no avail, including changing which USB port I had plugged my drive in. After one occasion USBLoaderGX sent me back to Homebrew Channel, but that didn't happen again on my other tries.
I've installed the cIOS 249 and 250 too just yesterday and I haven't performed any updates or played another original game on a disk.

As a last resort I thought I would try opening up WiiFlow again. But now it gave me a black screen before I even could select a game, no usual WiiFlow loading screen either.

At this point I have no idea what might be the problem and honestly am a bit too hesitant to proceed without help.

Thank You.

Hello,

can you post a syscheck report here, please ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

the usb keys work badly with wii (often black screen or does not start). On the forum, many people use the usb keys, and often they end up getting an external hard drive and the problems are solved.

did you get the latest usb loader gx (1272)?

For wiiflow lite, you have version 5.4.0?

I haven't gotten anything prepared for system check, let me take care of that super quick!

Both USBLoaderGX and WiiFlow, I downloaded them through Homebrew Browser and the 'Update' Button is looking gray so I assume they're both the latest update. I'll go check it now too!

usb loader gx ==>https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/

wiiflow lite ==>https://github.com/Fledge68/WiiFlow_Lite/releases

EDIT :

I saw your syscheck report, you must reinstall your cios correctly by following this guide ==>

Use Modmii ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

To correctly install the CIOS d2x with Modmii, follow the instructions below:

1) Open Modmii
2) type "I Agree"
3) select "4"
4) select "REC" (recommend cios)
5) select "D" (download selected files)
6) select "Y" (Yes)
7) your CIOS are loaded
8) select "O" and you will find your CIOS d2x in the "wad" folder on the opened page, recover them, and put them in the Wad folder on your SD.
9) you just have to install them with a Wad installer (wad manager, yet another wad manager mod, or other wad installers)

If you redo a new syscheck report, you will notice that the cios are correctly installed.

I followed your instructions and got my WAD folder, but I can't find a WAD folder on my SD.

Should I make a new one myself? If so should I make it in the root of my SD or somewhere else?

Hello.:)

Please copy the WAD Folder on the Root of your SD Card.
and please use the WiiMod Lite WAD Manager to install.He will find your WAD Folder automatically.:)

https://github.com/RiiConnect24/Wii-Mod-Lite/releases

The Multi Mod Manager is sometimes a little "picky" on WAD Installations.:(

Good Luck.:)

I figured so after a quick google search! Though I installed the WADs using 'Yet another Wad Manager' before seeing your comment! It seemed to work just fine! But thank you a whole bunch anyway!
