How would I go about updating the firmware on my emunand?

I think I'm running 8.1 right now and I'm tired of my switch saying there's an update available.

Do I just use choidujoir?
ChoiDujour does not support firmware 8.1. Use ChoiDujourNX. Yes, there is a very big difference between the two applications and knowing the difference is important as they are used for different purposes.

Hey all, I've got hacked Switch with 9.0.0 OS (probably non-banned as I updated it to this version myself officially). Using RCM One B and Hekate to boot Atmosphere 9.4 emummc on FAT32 SD card.

All was working well until one day while starting it up I got into some kind of a boot loop, occasionally getting me to a bootloader (very basic DOS like design) but I couldn't get anywhere so I started experimenting with rewriting the Atmo files eventually getting the system back running with all that was installed (via Quark + Goldleaf) before intact and running as well. The solution seemed to be some mix of new files and files from the original non-working backup which I don't have anymore though.

Now the issue is that when I want to use Goldleaf again, it either freezes once I press "Install on the sd card" or I can get one message window further saying that to low OS version or sigpatches might be the issue. I've tried literally all the sigpatches I could find but none of them seem to work. To low OS version doesn't make much sense either as some of the files I tried to install precede OS 9.0.0.

I would really like to be able to keep all that has been already uploaded through Goldleaf in a working state while getting the ability of uploading new stuff back, any idea how to reach that goal anyone? Worst case scenario is completely fresh everything but that would be real pain in the a$$ to get it back to the current state...

Thanks a lot!

Hello all, i have 8.1.0 and run atmos at 0.1.0, latest version. everything works fine but some requires latest consoel fw.how can i update still keeping atmos?i followed a video on youtube, that updated the emu mmc, with hekate, which i did up the bery end, but i have black screen if i try to launch with atmos or hekate himself. if i disable the emu mmc from hekate, atmos runs fine again but obviously the consoel still says i am at 8.1.0? any help?

Hello, I have a weird problem within some games such as Shovel Knight and Bayonetta. Whenever I start a new game I always have the maximum amount of "money" possible, I just downloaded and installed via Goldleaf the base games and updates of both games but even after wiping the save data whenever I start a new game the same keeps happening. Is there a way to fix this?

Just reformated as FAT32, Installed Tinfoil. Did not solve the issue. Cannot delete any .nsp file. Got error on Tinfoil - Failed to delete.

Ok i had this same issue with pokemon games or games with very long names.

Make sure name files are normal format.
No odd characters symbols or special letters
Example remove letters like ( É À Ñ)
or any symbols (*!$+×.
Also try shortening name file could be the name is too long.

If you don't have an emuNAND, then you can just copy and paste everything to the new SD card. Make sure the new SD card is formatted as FAT32 before doing so.

I'd be curious what would happen if you switched to a stock Atmosphere/fusee-primary setup. Other than that, I don't know what the issue could be aside from problems with the SD card.

So if I was going to setup emunand I would have to essentially start all over with the larger card?

Not exactly. You will have to repeat some of the steps related to building your emuNAND partition, but if you know what you're doing, you can copy the emuNAND from one SD card to another. With regard to your files/folders, you can just copy/paste them to the new SD card.

The important thing is to make sure your new SD card is formatted as FAT32 before importing anything.

Edit: It should be noted that, unless you plan on using online play with legitimately purchased games, there isn't much of a need for an emuNAND.

I have an unpatched Switch running 5.1 firmware my thought was to make a backup of the sysnand, then update the firmware to 9.1, then install emunand to an SD card. I guess I want to leave as many options available should a non tethered jailbreak happens in the future.

Is that a good plan? (I am totally new to the Switch)

Hey guys, I am running EmuMMC now and would like to restore my SysNAND to the "clean" backed up version I have. How do I restore it?

Hey guys, prior to modding my switch I made a clean back up for my SysNand. I am currently running EmuMMC and would like to use that back up to restore my SysNAND to the clean one. How do I do that? I see a lot of tutorials on how to restore to a clean sysNAND without back up but nothing about having the actual backup.

Is your plan to use a clean sysNAND for online play, or are you just trying to preserve your fuse count?

Restore your clean NAND backup using Hekate.

Just hacked my switch using Atmosphere and the NH guide. As suggested in the guide, using Hekate as the bootloader instead of fuslee primary. I'm confused on what sigpatches I need to use from joonie's github.

Choices are:

Atmosphere patches for fusee primary only
Kosmos patches 12 08 2019
Kosmos patches 12 08 2019 bootconfig

Thanks!

Restore your clean NAND backup using Hekate.

Probably fuse count more so than online play. But both would be ideal.

I am playing FE:three house 1.1.0 but i notice alot of cheat doesnt work on that version, so i reverted back to 1.0.1 version. i have deleted the save file but it still say i need to download and install update to play? how do i play 1.0.1 version?

"Bugleaf" is not very reliable. Use something such as Awoo-Installer.

It is pretty obvious if you read the names again.

Try using DevMenu to reset the Required Firmware Version. Unfortunately it cannot be linked here as it is a Nintendo copyrighted program.

Just in case, I even updated to 9.1.0, problem was still on. But then it came to my mind to check in windows .nsp file properties. Turned out that it was marked read-only. I unchecked that and now everything is perfect. I dunno why the heck all .nsp are selected read-only by default...
Just discovered it was u-torrent, that made all downloads read-only...

Planning on buying a switch lite for online play after my original was banned. Will I have any problems by linking my old account to the new switch? Will it be flagged too? Is it also possible to set this as my 'primary' console, as I'm assuming I can't change that setting on the original console anymore? I don't care about saves, I only really want to access my purchases and play online.

Hi, i need help on installing Witcher 3. Tried on both Goldleaf 0.7.3 and Tinfoil, both .nsp and .xci format installation. Both installation is successful however when I head to the home screen, there is a blank loading icon. (Confirmed that SD card is not corrupted, in FAT32 format) Currently on Firmware 9.1.0, atmosphere 0.10.1, any idea what went wrong? Its been a week since i was trying to figure out a solution. Zelda BOTW and DOS2 installed and launched properly, except for Witcher 3.

Also, when I head to the installer (Tinfoil/Goldleaf), they both show that the installed game exists but with an empty icon, only the title ID was shown.

Hello again. I just finished setting up the EmuMMC with Atmosphere thanks to the advice from this thread previously. I just had a question, if I launch into my SysMMC/OFW from Hekate, do I have to re-enter RCM to load back into my EmuMMC?

I am searching around but it seems devmenu only works up to firmware 6.0.0? is switch firmware that is causing the update problem with three hourse? If i rever back to like Firmware 5.0.0, i can play Fire Emblem Three house 1.0.1??
