Hello! I know I already asked something similar, but now I would like to try the aluminium foil method to get my possibly patched switch in RCM. Does it look good?

yes, never risk your console especially if its "possibly patched", take it as the console is patched and dont fuck with it.

Ok, then it seems I will need to wait. Tried this just because I am not allowed to buy JIGs btw.
how are you not allowed to buy a jig, i know not many bother because theyre small and not worth the postage.
Personal reasons, but I can tell you that I am not allowed to because my parents are aware I could f*** up my Switch, bought yesterday btw.
if you get a jig, you cant break your system, but if you bought it yesterday it will be a patched model.
its kind of funny, you cant buy a jig because your parents fear youll break you console, and you go risk making a makshift jig which will more likely fuck your console up.

WTH!? It is a second hand console, what isn't right with ya!? Ok nvm, my parents don't buy me a JIG because they buy me things only at Christmas and my b-day, this is why. Better?

It can almost touch the 3rd pin, so i suggest make it a bit more thinner. But as always, be careful with this. Put a tape to make sure it will stay in place.
IF you made it through RCM, don't forget to install autorcm. Just so to avoid doing this steps over and over again.
Yeah, already know about AutoRCM. Btw this entire discussion is based on the thing I want to see if my console is patched.

if your console serial is listed as possibly patched, take it that it is patched and your going to risk doing a makeshift jig and fuck your console up.

do not install autorcm, cfw and sx os has autoreboot rcm feature when you reset console.
installing arcm will mean your console will reboot into rcm mode and get stuck, but look like its switched off.

Wow. Well, I know it is risky, but I can't tell strangers why my parents don't buy me a JIG and will never do. Also, as I said, my Switch is possibly patched. I would like to choose AutoRCM not just because it is very useful, but because I will not need to do all these steps again. Btw I keep my Switch only in docked mode, so leaving accidentally my Switch on will not be a big problem. Now I understand you want to help me, but I joined this community only for strict answers, not for useless long stories.
EDIT : Also, I am not a "n00b". I never follow video tutorials. Maybe I should consider leaving GBATemp sometime.

I really suggest not using foil!!! Once you go through the above links and you are uncertain if it’s patched due to your serial then all you can do is test. Don’t be rushed Find a way to buy the jig your self by earning money from helping neighbors like racking leaves, washing cars...
I bet someone in your school probably has one they don’t use anymore. Ask around. If there is a place with a 3D printer close by there are plans on the net you can give them.
People hear really don’t want you to damage your switch. You even run into the possibility of bricking the switch in multiple ways.
However, in your situation I think it’s best to get your parents permission to do what your about to do. For some strange reason I feel that if you follow down this path it won’t go in your favor.

I remember being underage, When I was younger, my dad and sister use to mod my consoles for me, so I wasn't in your exact situation, but my parents were picky about other things. The main one I remember was they wouldn't let me use there credit card on additional Xbox Live accounts, so we could mod in Halo 2 Matchmaking. They didn't mind doing it for my real account, but they were worried I would forget to call and cancel after the account got banned. Plus, they didn't see the benefit of cheating in an online game, but I just did it because people would pay me via Paypal to let them in the parties to level up. So I had to give someone a discount to let me use there card to make the account lol. Honestly though, this was me being young, stupid, and desperate for cash, but don't cheat in online games, you are ruining the game for someone else, and giving modders a bad name.
Anyways, I'm willing to buy you a cheap jig for you so you can try it. They sell them on Aliexpress for like $2,which I am sure you already have, but makes it difficult if your underage and don't have a credit card. Either way, either send me an address or PO box to send it to, or if you have PayPal I could send you the website and money in Paypal to pay for it, but I don't know if they would let you spend it without a debit card or bank linked.
