theres a config folder, you can remove the <romname>.cfg or default.cfg and start over

i've notice that with original nintendo joystick i can go only in diagonal, but with the hori dpad i can use the joystick properly...
same problem with a connected ps4 controller, i can go only diagonal

MAME is an arcade emulator and usually you were pumping in quarters, they have no interest in you saving and playing later. Although it might have save states I'm not sure.

Edit: just realized this is an old post, still applies.

ok I *HAVE NOT* tested this with MAME, but it works with all other homebrew.

1) Visit the Switch Homebrew Appstore https://switchbru.com/appstore/#/
2) Download HBMENU
3) Extract hbmenu.nro and put it on the root of your SD card.
4) In SX OS just press and hold right trigger to launch the app with full memory support.

Out of curiosity, what does this provide that you can't get in Mame 2003 Plus in Retroarch which is based on the 0.78 romset?
Is it purely for the different UI/standalone-ness or does it have better compatibility for some games?

So I am running the .nro from the Album homebrew and I placed the roms folder on root of the microSD (formatted in exFAT).

It displays 3222/4199 games but how to I select anything? None of the buttons or sticks work to move the highlight.
