ROM Hack How do you roll back a game to version 1.0.0?

Not sure where to post this but I've seen mentions of using devmenu to disable a game from forcing you to update and allowing you to run it at version 1.0. However I keep running into threads where it says devmenu is only good for switch firmware 6 and under which we are at version 9 now. Is there some other homebrew app that can remove update requirements or is devmenu the only one?

There is a version of devmenu that still works fine on all firmware. Just try to find that.

I do have that, but got any extra insight on where that feature is hidden?
