The total of games in the lower right corner in the pic remembers me of the limit.
Any chance to solve this closing-app-crash problem meanwhile ?

Probably not. It's likely a limitation of memory or something. At the very least, the issues is outside of the emu code, and not something I could easily look into. Certainly not something I can hope to address without having a switch myself to test on. I'm already pushing the limits of what I can do without one.

As I already explained, this is not a limit that Nintendo set out of the malice in their hearts. It isn't even a set limit per se and isn't set anywhere inside the app, so there's nothing anyone can do about it. The app simply crashes when trying to save the information of so many games.

Have you noticed how the more games you add the more time the app takes to close? That's because the app saves at close time where every single one of those games is in your custom sort, the last time you played each one of them, how long you played each one of them, what you did in some of them, at what time down to the second did you open, saved progress, saved a state and closed each one of them. All of that is saved in a .json inside the app's save file (extract it with checkpoint and take a look yourself if you want). After you have added so many games, the app can't handle it anymore, says an audible (if you are close enough and in a quiet room) "fuck it" and crashes all the way to hell. There's nothing that can be done about it. Nintendo will release a maximum of 70 or so games for this total, so they will never ever run into this "problem".

Incidentally, the amount of games the crash will happen with is not set in stone. It's usually around 280, but if you add games and later remove them, or if you change their "code", the app will still count removed games and old codes as active games so theoretically you can have an app that crashes on exit while having only 2 games added because the app is still trying to save info for all the games you removed or change the code of.

If this happens to you or anyone reading this, one drastic solution is to delete your save file but you'll lose progress in all your games. Another less crazy solution is to extract the save file with checkpoint, edit or delete the .json file, reinsert it with checkpoint and open the app, which will make the app think the .json file is corrupt and create a new one. The "only" think you'll lose is your custom sort which kinda hurts for a while if you're like me and get crazy meticulous with it, but at least you'll be able to keep your game progress. Keep in mind that this is only for people who have less than the limit of games (around 280) but still get the app because they have added some games and deleted them at some point.

CaVE Database Manager is out now!

You can find it over here. That will be the new home thread for CaVE, Full Unlock, Switch SFROM Tool, and general SNES Online compatibility discussions. =)

EDIT:

Please abandon this thread. I will not be responding to anything in this thread anymore. We don't need more than 1, and this one is completely unmanaged, unlike the main thread which is the official thread for all my CaVE, Full Unlock, SFROM Tool/SFROM Format (Switch), and switch compatibility findings and discussions. The OP there is well refined and maintained, and I will respond there as quickly as I can. There is absolutely no reason to use this thread anymore.

I can't seem to get it to load any database. It always says, No "Iclassics.titledb" found at....Location. I have a couple that I have tried for both SNES and NES, but none of them seem to work.

You should post in the relevant thread. Like DarkAkuma said, that's the new home thread for all of this. There's no need to keep this thread around, specially for discussion about the tool itself! I'm sure we'll find out what you're doing wrong in no time (you're probably loading the wrong folder, make sure you have the whole correct folder structure)

Pop n twinbee certainly works. I downloaded a prepatched exefs folder from a piracy reddit and it was included (PAL version).

I've never been able to successfully patch anything with the SFROM tool, personally.

OMG - I found MY mistake, runs fine now.
I just made a simple mistake in the lclassics.titlesdb, that didn't lead to the usual total crash, but the game didn't start.
Thanks for your help :)

Wait, why are you not using DarkAkuma's CaVE Manager program? It's made precisely so no one makes those mistakes again... Come on, man.

And you should use the other thread! This one has run its course, we already know how to hack the SNES Online, there's a wonderful tool to help people add games in the simplest way possible that works flawlessly, and there's a thread about all of that. So we should talk about it there! Bumping this thread will only make it more visible when its already obsolete and will make people think that nothing's working yet, when in fact everything's working better than ever.

The cave manager is great. But I can't seem to get the SFROM tool to work.

Sure, the tool is great for those who want to build their own collection. Mine is already finished and very huge. There was just one mistake found, that's all.
And extreme necessary for me is a special sort of the list. It's split in some special sections and with only 4 games per row. The standard, 10 games per row, looks horrible.
I solved that with the release_date in the lclassics.titlesdb what only works once if you use it without an existing game-save because the sorting is saved there.
So adding one single game needs a special algorithm to fit the sorting. I wrote a small batch therefore that changes the lclassics.titlesdb.
So I use my old way, which is fast and optimized with some simple batches anyway, but not really handy for others.

Please, I need help. Which is the easiest way to remove signature checks on the Super Famicom Online (JAP) version?
