I would like to do the thermal mod, as some people have discussed here and for which there are some vidoes on the net.
However, I read some different opinions regarding the sizes of the thermal pads and other procedures. I understand that there is no way to proof who is right, but I would like to ask the people, who did the thermal mod ask the following:
1. If you installed thermal pads, which sizes did you use
a) On top of the cover of the RAM chips (I understand directly between RAM chip and the cover, 0.5mm should be used).
b) On top of the heatpipe.
2. Did you remove and left out the copper shim?
3. Did you experience any kind of improvement (e.g. fan is quiter than before)?
