I have only been in the 'switch' scene for a little bit and 'Atmosphere' has done all I have needed/wanted, Homebrew and backups

Atmos is the best unless you want to load xci
Reinx who uses that garbage haha.

Should be noted that Atmos runs retroarch far better than SXOS.

Reinx: Who uses this haha. I suppose it's a safe space for you if you're a t****** and/or into anime being plastered all over everything like multi colored pastel vomit. Kek. All error messages you get from Reinx will try hard not to trigger the user. It will remind you that only it's logic and ideology is valid. This CFW is not a fan of your opinion unless it's all inclusive. Everyone gets a trophy here folks. If a dose of virtue signaling is what you need, look no further.

Should be noted that Atmos runs Retroarch far better than SXOS. It's no contest in this department.

SXOS can load games from a external HDD. So now with Autoloader it's easier to manage massive multi-xci libraries.

Only fanboys use ReiNX. I used to use it while waiting for Atmosphere's official release, but I haven't used it in a very long time now. No real reason to, as far as I know it's outdated now, as it's the only CFW not working on the latest firmware, but they're still updating the Github repo so it hasn't been abandoned yet. I could see ReiNX becoming relevant again if they implemented features that we know Atmosphere won't, like XCI and USB HDD support.

Atmosphere is by far my favorite. It's free, open source, doesn't steal code from other CFWs, and in my opinion does the best job of trying to "hide" itself by using creport. With all that SciresM has done for the Switch homebrew community I feel like he has earned everyone's trust. That doesn't mean I agree with all of his decisions, like the mitm module in 0.9.4, but I at least trust that he's not going to release any code that would hurt my Switch.

SX OS is for people who don't mind "paying for piracy" and don't care if they use stolen code. No thank you. Sure, it may have a few features that Atmosphere doesn't, but they're strictly piracy-related and most users can live without them.

I have 2 Switches and use SX OS on one, Atmosphere on the other. I prefer SX OS due to the ability to run xci files off of an eternal USB drive. They both have their strengths and weaknesses though.

if by best you mean the one that does the most is SX OS
if by best you mean the most simple one is SX OS by FAR (one f'n file and that's it. not sig patches, no sept, no this no that, it works)

objectively speaking, sxos is the best, hands down.
Now, if we get into pricing, or 'ethics' behind the team, that's a whole other discussion.

Is funny, a lot of people say "unless blah then its atmosphere" and clearly by votes they vote atmosphere, but if there's an unless and that unless is FUNCTIONALITY (not pricing) then i think you are doing 'best' wrong.

I have sxos on one switch, atmos on the other.

... No custom kips, no retroarch support, not able to be configured, always behind on updates. I hardly consider the ability to run xci a qualification for "having the most".

I use it for XCI too, but to use words like "objectevly". Come on man... Just because you have to use your brain less does not make it better.

As you can see some people shitting on reinx again: For what purpose do you do that?

Discrediting Reinx has the potential to frustrate the creator to the point, that they simply stop working on it at all. The only thing this achieves is to rob you off one potential cfw you could use. Competition and choice is good for the end user. It keeps competition between cfw creators alive and motiviates them to continue.

It's especially puzzling that you certainly have users who use Atmosphere to play pirated games (duh!). As Reinx includes sig patches by default and has no anti piracy stance, you would think that those people would be a little more keen to keep it around.

Incidentally this is true for all kind of homebrew software. This whole attitude will drive off existing developers and keep new ones from joining the community. To the detriment of everyone involved.

I currently use Atmosphere. It fulfils my needs so far and has convience features for AutoRCM.
