Back in the game after awhile AFK from the scene and wondering what a safe FW is for updating? Just restored nand and boots (4.0.1). Setup and running latest Kosmosnx/Atmos w/Pegascape. Am I good to update to 8.0.1 or 8.1.0 with Choidujournx (so as not to burn fuses) or is a lower version still better for whatever reasons?

May I know is it safe to back to original firmware to link Nintendo account and then turn off internet connection then back to cfw? I just want to record my game play hours.

I have a Nintendo refurbished switch with serial # XAW941xxx.
Would just attempting to run fusee gelee on it brick it?
I ask because there isn't much info on ZAW9 serial numbers
Unless you are sending the payload, PozzNX, then there is 0% chance of bricking the console with any payload.

I recommend firmware 8.X over 7.X as 7.X has a nasty USB bug.

If you have a clean NAND backup, then yes. Simply restore your clean NAND backup prior to going online and link the Nintendo account. Otherwise it is not safe.

Thank you for your reply, can I follow this guide to restore my clean NAND backup? Thanks!

You didn't post a guide although I don't think you can since you have less than 10 posts. Anyways, you don't really need a guide for restoring the NAND. Just put them in backup/(eMMC serial number)/restore and restore them via Hekate. If you do not have the proper file structure, simply try restoring with Hekate and it will automatically create it for you.

Yes I found out the link I attached was missing. Haha. Thanks!

Hi, I'd like to ask a question.
I've been running SX os on emunand in airplane mode and tried installing an .nsp + update yesterday for the first time (the game I installed doesn't have online features ), Everything went smoothly and I played the game without issues... until I realized airplane mode doesn't work when the console is docked and of course, my dock is wired.
I know sx os includes a stealth mode by default, so do you think this could have caused my console to get flagged or am I (relatively) safe?
Thank you.

I'm not the best person to reply here but I believe stealth mode blocks nintendo communications. As a best practise, in emuNAND, just go to the wifi settings and press "forget" on your current wifi connection. This way you make sure you will never connect to the internet.

I'll definitely do that as soon as I'm home ( and even delete my nintendo account from the emunand, just to be safe ), I was just wondering if I was already screwed or not.

After setting up EmuMMC and restoring my old 4.1 backed up NAND to MMC, I can't boot to Stock (SYSNAND) through Hekate. It shows the Kosmos screen, then Atmosphere, then reboots to Hekate. Any help?

EDIT: Some more info. I don't have a Nintendo folder for Sysnand, but that shouldn't be a problem should it?

EDIT2: After turning on logs and recording the screen with my phone, I can see it says "Pkg2 decryption failed!".

EDIT3: Fixed! I had forgotten to restore BOOT0 and BOOT1.

i have a few dumb questions.
1. is there a way to extract/backup all the saves on the console? or do i have to go thru every profile and every game with checkpoint?
2. if i do a complete reformat of console will that "clean" my system for a good backup of my nand, seems i have updated since first nand dump. the only working dump is a backup running homebrew.
thanX in advance

I bought a hacked Nintendo Switch with Atmosphere and I've no SysNAND backup, the seller told me that he never went online and im sure he did not.
Im thinking about migrate to SXOS (want to play some games online soon), there's a way to "clean" the console and start all over again from step zero and create a SysNAND with no risk of ban?

Thanks.

I finally got CFW on my Switch. I used Kosmos and then added Choidujour to update to 8.1.0. All was good untill I started to install NSPs in Goldleaf/tree. I am not sure what is happening, but my power button isn't functioning correctly. In CFW, it will not put the Switch to sleep or cannot be held to bring up the power menu. To turn the Switch off, I had to remove the SD card, and take the prompt from there. If I boot into OFW, I don't have any issues. Any ideas?

Edit: After a few reboots, it just started working normally in CFW. If anyone would have any idea of what may have triggered that, I would appreciate anything.

  1. Not sure if EdiZon has such a feature but unless it does, you will have to do it manually for all games
  2. The only way to clean the system is with a clean NAND backup before CFW and homebrew. Nothing else will lead to a clean NAND

The official way is by checking your system settings. If there is an "E" at the end, its running in emuMMC and an "S" indicates sysMMC.

The partition is your emuMMC in that much like your sysMMC has internal memory, so does your emuMMC. The internal memory is the part of your SD card you partitioned so anything installed to the internal memory of emuMMC is installed in the partition.

No there is not if you do not have a clean NAND backup.

There was an update for the Switch cartridge slot in firmware 4.0 that when applied simply makes it unusable on any firmware version below 4.0. If you have ever booted a firmware of 4.0 or higher without preventing this update, then your cartridge slot has already been updated. Another way to tell is by using a cartridge. It if works when you're on a firmware version of 4.0+ or if it does not work when your firmware version is below 4.0, then it has been updated.
