Before I go any further, is your 3ds hacked and do you use Luma? If u followed the 3ds guide then you do
Next:
Did you name folder properly to which nsmb version you have. There’s two dif ones for each region.

And when u start ur 3ds u hold select. Luma menu will come up and now you want to tick the game patching option then press start to save and exit. Then start your game like normally would.

And Note:
The hack does not go into the same folder as ur game. It’s in a whole dif location
The numbers below has to be ur games number. Figure out which one matches ur game in original post and that will be the name of that folder instead of the example number below
There’s prob a luma folder on ur card already create a folder titles inside of luma folder then inside of titles folder create a folder of ur games number version then inside of that folder a romfs folder and the hacks go in there
SD:/luma/titles/0004000000137E00/romfs/“Hack folders here They named - Course, Unit, etc”

I redownloaded the download files & I checked my title I'd & created the respective folders & even ticked the game patching option & still nothing & to answer your question from earlier yes my DS is hacked I recently updated luma to 9.1 & my DS' firmware is on 11.8.0-41U

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Never mind I finally got it to work thank you for helping me everyone you're the best ^^

is this project still active? do you need testers?
i've been waiting super patiently for this to release in full so i can play it the way it will have been intended, but at this point, i'm willing to dedicate myself to testing this project and doing as much as i can to see its release.

love this game's engine, and will surely love any and all rom hacks thereof!

We're still working on it.

No testers are needed at the moment, as we're focusing on working on the game first. It has been a slow period recently because of school/college winding up again, but there is still definitely things getting done.

Once we feel the game is complete, we will bring in testers before release.

've been trying to run the Sunset Shores patcher on my NSMB2 Gold CIA. It extracts the CIA, validates the hash, then when it tries to build the CIA I get "No patch available for CXI. Invalid CXI dump?"

I noticed the "patches" folder is empty, so I'm guessing it's not actually downloading the patch files correctly. Is there a solution?

Edit: I'm on Windows, and the patcher says the download server is reachable.

You don't. The prompt appeared in the original game, we just didn't get around to removing it.

We have a ton of cool stuff in-the-works for the final release of SMBNext. And as such, in order for us to maintain a high level of quality, the game does not have a release date. As the old saying goes, it will be done when it's done.

Updated thread with more relevant and up-to-date screenshots, as well as two videos that show off some things from the game.

NOTE: If you have already played other NSMB2 mods, make sure
to delete the Luma directory for your NSMB2 TitleID before proceeding.

1. If it isn't already, set your 3DS up with Luma3DS by following the 3DS hacking guide here.

2. Enable game patching by holding SELECT on 3DS boot, ticking the "Game patching" box, and pressing START.

3. Download the version of SMBNext you want to play using the links below:

SMBNext: Halloween Special DX (Rev. 7): Google Drive | MEGA

SMBNext: Demo (Rev. 2): Google Drive

SMBNext: Sunset Shores: Download Site

NOTE: THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW ARE ONLY REQUIRED FOR HALLOWEEN SPECIAL DX & DEMO

4. Insert your 3DS SD card into your PC, and find your TitleID version from the list below:

NSMB2 Standard Edition:

EUR - 000400000007AF00

USA - 000400000007AE00

JPN - 000400000007AD00

KOR - 00040000000B8900

NSMB2 Gold Edition:

USA - 0004000000137E00

NSMB2 Special Edition:

EUR - 0004000000137F00

JPN - 0000400000137D00

5. Extract the downloaded mod, and copy the "romfs" folder to SD:/luma/titles/<Your NSMB2 TitleID>/.

Replace <Your NSMB2 TItleID> with the one you picked from above.
Example directory (for USA Gold): SD:/luma/titles/0004000000137E00/romfs/Course, Unit, etc

6. Turn on your 3DS, with the SD Card inserted, and open up your version of NSMB2.

NOTE: The selected version of SMBNext will persist until you remove or rename the "romfs" folder.
