Hey Guys,

I've installed Android (Lineage 15.1) on my Nintendo Switch.
It works pretty cool, i can play PSP-Games and some Nintendo Gamecube Games just fine.

Using the Joycons work pretty well, especially in PPSSPP.
Unfortunately, even after modifying the Gamecube Controller Input (Emulated), the left and right Control sticks of the Joycons doesn't work in the Dolphin Emulator.
In the Input Settings, Dolphin recognizes the Sticks, but I can't use the Sticks in Games. I don't know why.

Is there a special Dolphin version for this?
DO I need something else to get this to work?

People like you are literally what's wrong with the world today. You're either ignorant or lazy & want people to spoon feed you. If you actually bothered to read, you would not be here creating useless threads.
If you know the solution, you could just help him/her instead of beeing an asshole

You have to flash the joycon fix zip in order to fix the controls. You can get it on the offical xda page.

You need to install some zip files from xda. If you don't find them DM me and I'll send them over

//edit
Actually adding them below (hope its not an issue). The fix-joycon works to allow joycons to function correctly, but issues with R3 being stuck or not working continued. So the fix for that is the second package which fixes the problem both on dolphin and gta san andreas. I confirm this two are working as they fixed the problem for me. Just flash both of them as normal.

You do realize that this guy, DungeonCrawler, has been a part of quite a few big advancements and projects in the Switch including porting GameMaker games and translations/ROM hacks.

Why is everyone so sensitive now a days. Someone is asking for help, if you know the answer or have a comment to share which points the dude in the right direction then share it. Don't complain on people for asking for help. Its a legit question, and one that I had and didnt know how to fix for weeks. Since only the joycon-fix on the xda site does NOT fix the R3 issues (example, joycons work, but games like GTA San Andreas on android, when entering a car, the camera flips in reverse view and it never goes away nor are you able to toggle it off). That required an additional patch over the joyconfix from xda. And trust me, I viewed and searched on the xda forum's 100+ page article for the fix on that R3 joystick issue on the xda thread, and never found the solution there. I actually found it on youtube video that was in a language that I did not understand but still managed to follow the steps that had above patch fix for both GTA SA and dolphin. Tested, and fully working.

If you're anywhere near a big city there's probably a good mental hospital you could visit.

Everyone breathe. :)

This was indeed an instance, where reading the first post of the original thread (on xda) would have lead to the person getting his answer.

Opening a new thread, instead of posting it into the Switch thread also amplified the issue. As it was basically answered in there already as well.

So this had all the markings of a 'quickly - help me' posting from how it presented itself. In regards to a question that was easily answerable by reading, and had been answered many times before - in the posting the OP obviously had visited to get the files, and elsewehere.

That the OP is an active contributer - changes stuff a little, because if you give without expecting anything back - you usually can expect help without questions asked. Not a fixed, rule - and still, you maybe asked an unnecessary question in a thread that was all about you getting your question answered - but still.

As this has the potential to upend the entire "demand a little more of people trying to get help in here - because otherwise you'll end up with a community where the same question is asked 500 times over 4 years" strategy - of trying to keep this forum in a state, where it doesnt feel like an everscrollong instragram feed of help requests - please handle this with moderation. :)

'Being a little stricter' and demanding from people to 'rtfm' before they ask for support - only works, if you kind of have a majority thats on board, even though it is unpopular, by people just wanting support. Also you still should answer the questions, before the "you should have RTFM part".

If sentiment turns and people find it overly oppressive - it doesnt work anymore.

Mistakes here were made on both sides. Everybody breath. .:)

Theory posting to follow. :)

You're telling everyone to breath yet you blow up at people all the time. You probably haven't gotten fresh air in years if I had to guess LMAO.

Self organizing communities/movements live from people volunteering their work for free, with no expectation of return.

By that you generate a basic stock of 'goodwill' that becomes a draw, and usually leads to reciprocity, and people working collectively on issues - to keep that going. So its the basis of everything.

At the same time, if you have no barrier of entry - and become 'popular' and there is a mismatch between people 'just wanting their issues solved' and people interested in the community aspect - you could end up with the flooding of certain channels.

This becomes especially an issue - if for example you mainly see this forum as a release and feedback channel - and for example there is a large mismatch between knowledge needed to solve a problem and average knowledge level of the person asking for help - in addition to a numbers problem.

So if at any point this forum becomes half of the topics on the front page are personal support requests - visibility on the release and feedback threads becomes low. And the expectation arises, that everyone can get their problem fixed personally - all the time. Even the rtfm ones.

Thats not a great outcome either - so a balance has to be found.

If it turns too highbrow or too toxic - people will rebel and it doesnt work.

That said. Everyone makes mistakes.

Dont set out to 'kill people' on the reputation level, by attacking their metal state, just because thats what you do on facebook all day.

We know - that most of you are new to this community concept, because you grew up with social media. :)

Ended up a little too highbrow-y sounding. Take away 30% of that. ;) Couldn't make it a better text. Tried. :)

Mistakes were made here. Please breath through it.

Yes, thats why I am doing it.

I know that I was instrumental (in promoting this culture).

Please read the argument I tried to lay out. :)

You can copy the files to the fat32 partition or download them from Android directly by going to this site, and when booting Android on your switch, load hekate and boot to TWRP by holding VOL+ when you select the Android config. Mount system partition and install the zip files from there. If you are still not sure what above means, you might need to go to YouTube and search for a video with steps on installing Android on switch to see the steps there as well.

Well gee this guy actually contributes and helps people and people are buthurt he asked for help. #firstworldproblems

Look it is a forum meaning we should make posts when things are not clear to us and android is an ocean of threads across various sites and platforms in terms of switch info right now.

Nwayz my experience has been really nice controls wise but i use a pro controller. I then just map it wirelessly over bluetooth. I really enjoy it actually.

Yea, that's true :S

Well, I haven't done any Android-related stuff before and that's why I asked here at GBATemp.
It hurts to see people complaining about asking question.

I can't know everything, tho.

I'll try the joycon-fix when I'm back at home (currently on vacation).

Thank you guys (who are actually tried to help) o/
