Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to the Wii U hacking scene and I don't want to purchase a DS game to use Haxchi, so here's the deal, I've downloaded HID to VPAD and I use the network software to play wirelessly with my xbox one controller (the bluetooth one), the controller is detected and works flawlessly on the home menu, but I want to play some nes games with it through retroarch and to launch retroarcg you need to get to the Homebrew Launcher, but whenever I try to launch it (I tried different exploits such as loading.ovh, u.wiidb.de and wiiu.console.guide/exploit) it's stuck on a white screen, I tried many times and I haven't managed to make it work.
Here's a quick summary of the issue:
1-Launch the Homebrew Launcher through any browser exploit
2-Make the HID To VPAD thing work with a controller
3-Apply patches and return to Home Menu
4-Try to launch again the Homebrew Launcher through the browser exploit (you shouldn't be able to access it)
Here are some informations about my wii u :
I'm on the 5.5.4 version using mocha cfw through the browser exploit, I'm using the 1.4 version of the Homebrew Launcher.
Here are some (dumb) questions that might actually help me
-Is there any other way to launch the homebrew launcher besides Haxchi or the browser exploit ?
-Can you get retroarch on the home menu so you can launch it without having to launch the homebrew launcher ?
-Is Retroarch even compatible with HID To VPAD or does it actually support the xbox one controllers (XInput) natively (so I can just use my controller without HID To VPAD) ?
-Is Retroarch compatible with the wired gamecube fighting controller ?
Hope that someone can help me, I really want to play operation wolf on a big screen using a "decent" controller (The gamepad is really not comfortable and I don't own a Pro Wii U controller)
Thanks in advance !

Once you've launched the homebrew launcher once, you can access it again by simply launching the Mii Channel (it will revert back to normal once you reboot the console)

Ok so as it turns out, I can access the "homebrew launcher" succesfuly (without any issue after many tries) through the mii channel but I am in fact, the mii channel actually redirect me to HID To VPAD and then if I exit the HID To VPAD software when clicking the Home Button (without applying patches because if you apply the patches you get redirected to the home menu) so in fact any homebrew channel is not compatible with HID To VPAD, so here's my question, can you launch retroarch in the home menu ? Or is there any (good) nes emulator which can be launched through the home menu ? Or is there anything I can do to use my xbox one controller with retroarch

Virtual Console NES titles can obviously be launched from the home menu, therefor VC injected roms can also be launched from the home menu... as VC titles use Nintendos own proprietary(?) emu it's arguably better than using any of the open source alternatives - just got to watch for that title limit.

The problem with that is only a few games are supported, and the games that I want to play aren't even mentioned on the supported games list so that's why I wanted to use emulation

AFAIK once you launch hid to vpad you can only launch a game on the Wii U menu, and not access any other homebrew.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

It says so in the official instructions

Note:
You need to start this Application every time you reboot your console.
When you want to re-enter the settings, start the Mii Maker (not haxchi!).
It's not possible to start another homebrew application after running hid to vpad.

Yeah but that doesn't help me, I saw a post of someone who actually made a retroarch application that you can launch from the home menu, but the people who tested it say that when you launch HID To VPAD it makes retroarch instantly crash so... I don't know what to do...

Retroarch is homebrew is it not? And you saying it crashed makes sense with what I posted, you can't run any homebrew applications after running HID to VPAD. Of course it doesn't help you but if it's a fact it's a fact.

That program was not made with running emulators in mind, it is meant for Wii U games or individual VC games on the Wii U menu.

Retroarch goes in the same folder as other Wii U apps so it's a homebrew app, and it's not compatible with HID to Vpad.

Ok so is there something as easy as 3ds injection for wii u ? 'Cause Injectiine is *really* annoying like you have to found 3 images, edit them to the proper dimensions, rename them, get the title keys, select a base rom if your game is mentioned in the database and if it's not good luck to get something working properly, and even if it's mentioned It could have some really annoying issues listed as "minor bugs" and injections crashes very often so if it's not a N64 game I won't be dealing with injections so if there is another method that is more "convenient" so yeah sure, let me know

After some research, I've round that retroarch wii u is compatible with HID controller, if so, does it also works with XInput controllers ? And what about that third party gamecube fighting controller for smash ultimate ?

I've not used Injectiine for a while, but there are ways you can simplify the process - such as not bothering "finding" correct images and just using placeholder files created to the correct resolution/format which you can reuse for each injection.
Also, try searching the usual places you'd go to for roms - almost all of the popular titles that succesfully work with the injection procedure have already been created and uploaded by someone. From memory, even WiiU helper has a sub-category of injected VC titles.
