Hey guys, so I wanted to get the R4 dongle for the Nintendo switch so I wouldn't have to carry my phone cable with me to load the reinx.bin but I already have reinx installed, can I still use the R4 dongle with my already modded Nintendo switch? I wanted to do this so I can have multiple custom firmwares.

Yeah, you're only using it to push the payload. I don't personally have experience with the R4s but I don't think it allows you to store multiple payloads simultaneously. You can always use ArgonNX, but you might want to consider a dongle like the RCMloader One, that has a button that allows you to switch between multiple stored payloads.

You can use multiple CFWs, but I'm not sure why you'd want to. Atmosphere with EmuMMC and sigpatches installed is a pretty darn good setup.

Just clarifying So it could work with my already modded switch?

Well you don't really need a multiple payloads dongle if you don't mind going through hekate to select what to boot, even using a rcmloader one dongle you still got to jiggle around what to boot.

Yes, you buy a dongle (whatever one you choose to use, I prefer RCMloader One but it's a matter of preference). Plug the dongle into your PC, copy the payload (ReiNX.bin) to the dongle, most dongles require the file to be renamed to payload.bin.

At that point, the dongle will essentially do the exact same thing you've been doing with your phone.

Yeah thanks for the help!

One more question can I switch from firmware to firmware or only stick with one

You can switch back and forth between firmwares pretty easily. But if you're planning on using emuMMC (which I HIGHLY recommend if you want to avoid bans!) your only options are Atmosphere and SX OS.

Couldn't he just have hekate as the main payload and from there boot any of the payloads on his SD?

There are some drawbacks to booting through Hekate. Some versions of Tinfoil refuse to work if Hekate is detected.
Oh didn't know that. Maybe he could have the trial version of sxos as his main and while it's loading if you press the volume up button you can launch from payloads on your SD too.
