Hi
I'm Ben and I have the supernag. I was on Version 4.0.1. this morning.
Every time I click on the „ReSwitched“ video, injected with fakenews, i get the update message.

I tried getting around it with GagOrder but it didn't work.

In GagOrder Version 0.0.1 i get the error:
Code:
Invalid nag bytes detected: 0x14020028

In version 0.1.0:
Code:
Failed to terminate ns...

error code 0X0000020f

Today i updated to Firmware 4.1.0 with ChoiDujourNX, because the author of GagOrder tested it only on 4.1.0

That didnt help. Same errors with GagOrder.

I tried the trick with recovery mode, then shutdown etc.
That didn't work either.

The user „shadow“ describes a method in a Thread here on gbatemp

to look after the folder 000000000000000f and rename it to 000000000000000f.bak.
Unfortunately there is no such a folder in my case.
Maybe someone can tell me how big the folder must be, so I could locate the file. Maybe the folder has just another name in my case.

I even tried very old Atmosphere and Hektate Versions… :(
What could be the problem here?

What are you trying to do with the web browser exactly?

The goal is to start Kosmos with the Fakenews injection, so I can boot Caffeine.

I was never able to get gag order to work for me, what did work was incognito. If you don't mind not connecting to Nintendo's server I'd Install that and then do the restart trick to clear the update you already have downloaded.

I tried it but it doesnt work. I even restored the factory settings after i used incognito. Somehow everytime i click on the fakenews video, the update message comes up. :(

Basically, you let the Switch connect to the internet before setting custom DNS. This is what caused the issue. Do you have a NAND backup? If so, you can restore it and you'll be good to go.

I guess you /could/ try updating your firmware and then downgrading your firmware. As long as you don't burn the fuses you should be okay.

I have a NAND Backup of Version 4.0.1 created yesterday.
The problem is, that I had the Nag even in this Version BEFORE the Dump!

So, if I click on „update“ and install the firmware, is it save to go back?
Maybe i should make another Nand Backup with 4.1.0 and than try to downgrade to 4.0.1 before I test it.

But in case I downgrade from the latest version to 4.0.1… wouldn´t there be still the Nag?

If it is unpatch used RCM method instead of software base.

The idea is not to use the rcm method.

I want to use Pegaswitch

If you use the pegaswitch method your entry point is only up to 4.1.0, you still have to run an emunand, via RCM method you get support upt to latest firmware, if you really have an unpatched unit get a modchip fitted it will make it much easier for you if you hate pushing a payload with a computer.

I know and I'm totally fine with that. ;)

I hate it, so I would like to use Pegaswitch. No Modchip.
The only thing that stands between me and Pegaswitch is that annoying Nag.

What would happen if:
- I update to the newest Firmware via ChoiDujourNX
- Look if there is still the nag message. If yes, I click on update and the switch will tell me that there is no update available. --> nag gone
- Downgrade to 4.0.1 (which had the nag)
- Supernag-free?

I guess the question here is, does ChoiDujourNX change the savedate by downgrading, the switch looks after when I open the browser. (ns_ssversion's savedata or whatever it is called)

If you updated via choidujourNX to the latest on sysnand you can possibly lose out on the pegaswitch exploit if you someone boot into sysnand ofw without a bootloader, ChoidujourNX doesn't mess with savedate if I remember correctly but then again it is not really a downgrader, you should restore your NAND backup instead. I would say set up incognito if you don't mind running cfw on your sysnand, run ReiNX or SX OS to edit it. Then again remember pegaswitch only work up to 4.1.0 right now.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

How come you don't want to get a mod chip fitted?

Why is that? What happens with the exploit if I boot into newest ofw without bootloader?
I just want to have the Ns_ssversion savedata corrected on newest ofw, than nand restore to 4.0.1

ChoidujourNX doesn't mess with savedate if I remember correctly

Can someone confirm this?
I don't want the hassle with upgrading / nand restore if it is for nothing..

Edit:
I realized it would be for nothing, because I than would have to use Auto rcm.

I would say set up incognito if you don't mind running cfw on your sysnand, run ReiNX or SX OS to edit it.

I already did that. I mean I already changed console ID with incognito.

How come you don't want to get a mod chip fitted?

I guess i don't want to spent money on something i potentially don't need :d
Nothing against modchips per se..
I have a lot of modchips for my consoles. Even for my Sega Saturn I have a Phoebe ODE.

In the same boat as OP, just can't get Gag-Order to work, for Pegaswitch/Warmboot exploit instead of RCM. Can anyone work on fixing or finding out the correct magic number for OFW 4.1.0, the old one appears to be no longer valid?

https://github.com/16BitWonder/Gag-Order/releases

Invalid nag magic detected: 0x18000168. Expected 0x14020028.

Currently there appears to be no way to get rid of the Super-nag on OFW 4.1.0.
