Hacking Question Linking account on a restored system

I had a few questions and want to make the best decision. I recently had to restore my nand and went back to 1.0 official firmware and never had blown fuses, and I want to link my account to Nintendo, after a lot of research, I want to be able to do a few things:
1. Link an account to utilize the NES "Online" and other games like Bloodstained
2. Minimize the likelihood of getting banned (yes I know anytime you go online with anything CFW it's there)
3. Update to the most recent firmware

Which would be the best option as I'm on 1.0 with no blown fuses.
1: Create an emunand? (still haven't grasped the entire purpose of emunand fully)
2: Use Choidujour and update to 8.1 and boot to OFW and link an account?
3: Secret best option that I'm not thinking of.

Emunand if you want
choidujourNX to update without burning fuses to 8.1 then use the KefirUpdater to add linked acocunt.

backup your saves first though as it will remove all any accounts currently on there

outside of adding a linked account, does kefir do anything else? Guessing it works offline or with 90dns?

Works offline AFAIK.

I just used the link account feature, other than that kefir is like a discount atmosphere

If you update through Choidujour to the most recent firmware, I'm guessing it'll flag the system for banning?

If you've already run CFW then yes there is the flag.

If you set up emummc then update that to 8.1 with choidujourNX then as long asa you are careful and don't connect online with it, you should be fine I guess...

One thing to remember with emunand is that your Cert is shared between sysnand and emunand
