You don't really need any patches. You just need Atmosphere's BCT protection when installing a system update with AutoRCM enabled of course. As for downloading the system update, you can do it in OFW or Hekate's Stock mode which is what I do all the time.
I remember speaking to you about this last night. But what that leave traces of cfw ? if youre trying to keep stuff "clean"?

Probably But Atmosphere users keep going on and on about how they're not banned even when using Atmosphere so I just thought why not try their luck. Everything seems so far, so good on my end. I try to avoid booting into the Homebrew Menu and just install the update. I also don't even bother cleaning out my SD card. The only clean way of updating without burning fuses involves having a 100% consistent method of entering RCM which I do not have. If you do, you can simply reboot to RCM after the system update finishes installing.

makes sense. Im gonna wait for the next kosmos release then mess around. I think by 400gig sd card is corrupted. transfer speeds are reallly slow.

I've been using my partition emummc for online and CFW for about a day now. I haven't noticed anything weird yet and everything feels just as fast as it normally does

On After making a partition with a 4.1.0 nand backup, how do i update it to play online? just using the switch system updater?

System updater works fine, but it'll update you to 8.1.0 so you probably want to wait until atmosphere supports 8.1.0 before doing so
yeah but wont it just update emunand and leave sysnand untouched tho?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

so in theory if u have a emunand running ofw and updatae to 8.1 then sysnand should be untouched and only emunand would have updated to 8.1 unless im missing something

That's also what I understand.

Creating an Emunand from a Clean Nand, and booting it, using hekate "Boot to Stock"
option, and updating the Emunand to 8.1.0 will give you online access, but how do you have your Sysnand or a different emunand with Homebrew? O:

The SX OS EmuNAND and SysNAND read both from the /switch folder. So they have the same homebrew.
